Hetalia

Postby Darth_Kirby » Tue May 17, 2011 9:25 pm

I just started watching Hetalia recently and wow.... lol It was like a Japanese version of Hysteria! I love it! :) For those of you who loved the American cartoon Hysteria I recommend Hetalia. It's the same thing with slight differences. Hysteria was more general history and Hetalia focuses more on country history.

Yeah Hetalia is great. I prefer the American dub so I can hear all of the accents and stereotypes more readily. I know that sounds horrible, but that's why I like to watch the dub of that anime.

There have been threads about this already, but since those threads are graveyard dead I don't see any reason why we can't have this one.

I LOVE Hetalia! It is my favorite anime! I really like the interesting historical aspects of it. The characters portrayed as countries with personalities makes them so unique and awesome! I love them all!
Besides, I like Hysteria as well! That cartoon brings me back memories!

I prefer the Funimation American dub also anyday.
Honestly IMO, the dub to me is actually well done, the accents makes sense, and more funnier than the original Japanese audio sub. (But I watch the sub for more educational perspectives)

One of my friends introduced her history teacher to it. The next day, they were cracking Hetlia jokes, and the whole class had no idea what they were talking about!

Yay! Nice to see another Hetalia fan around. xD I haven't seen much of the English dub sadly, though I've watched almost every episode out in Japanese with subtitles. Once I actually have money maybe I can get around to buying the dubbed version. xD

Wow! That most be a awesome time in that class.
It reminds me that when I was in history class, my prof. was lecturing about times around WW1 and I was getting happy because these lectures are similar as what Hetalia mentioned.
I told my prof about the facts and he was pretty okay about it.
I even draw doodles of it in my history notebook! It was so funny!

I really like all of the characters, but my favorites are probably Russia, England, America and the Netherlands.

Indeed. I should probably have added him to that list. How could I ever forget.

I loooooove Hetalia. I watched the first episode when I was twelve, but I didn't get it. So I watched it again a few months ago. I loved it. Now I'm waiting for the next season... Gotta wait 'til September 10 to watch it, or so I've been told.

I recently started watching Hetalia, and I will agree that it is an awesomely funny anime. Coincidentally, I started watching after studying Renaissance and Reformation history so it was uberly hilarious. The Holy Roman Empire chasing after Italy demanding him to join the HRE was what got me hooked. That and America being annoying a superhero and hamburger loving character.
