Whats up everybody. My name is Matt, I work as a machine operator at a metal fab shop. I'm 27 years old and live in Atlanta with my wife and cats. We live in an apartment but are in the process of buying our first house :). I stumbled upon this website and it seems like a great place to discuss my favorite things. I guess I'll give a bit of history...

First anime I watched was back in high school...really don't remember what grade I was in, but my friend let me borrow his VHS of Vampire Hunter D. I really thought it was awesome and after borrowing a few more, I started spending my allowance at suncoast every weekend...I'd usually buy 2 anime tapes per weekend; oh how times have changed. Shortly after that I got real hardcore into the fansub scene, I still have about 4 full sized moving boxes full of fansubs, everything from super obscure Akazukin Cha-Cha to Initial D. After that I started buying HK DVD sets. Started with the first 80 episodes of one piece, and bought a few full series sets (these dvd's were WAY cheaper and 90% of them were the same quality as the in store releases well because, they were direct copies...just packaged in china and sold on the CHEAP...for those who don't know)

Of course I purchased tons of anime dvds, figures, apparel, etc throughout the past 12 years or so of my fandom and have a pretty decent collection now. I met my wife in 2001 and quickly introducer her to my nerdy hobby...well I guess I awoke the sleeping beast within because she's just as huge of a fan as I am now...I'll often catch her getting SUPER excited about a con or something and she'll say something like "Matt, look what you did to me!" haha.

My first anime con was Anime Weekend Atlanta 6, back in 2000...and I've gone to every AWA since then, started taking Ashley (my wife) at AWA 8. We've cosplayed numerous things like Risky&Safety from Omishi Magical Theater, Kazuki and Jackal from Get Backers, Delphine and Dio from Last Exile, Chise and Shuji from Saikano, and most recently Lady Crocodile and Shura from One Piece. We've also gone to as many other cons as we can make it to, Momocon every year, MTAC a few times, Anamazement once, Atlanta Anime Day a few times a year, Janicon, and a few other ones.

At the moment we've been watching Fractile, Bakuman, Star Driver, and whatever strikes our fancy. We also have plenty of "One Piece" nights with some friends as we're trying to catch up (currently on episode 353)

I love video games too, my FAVORITE genre is racing simulation. I have a wheel and a very ghetto looking race setup, but when we get our house i'm going to build a full racing rig at work. I also love JRPG's although they've left a BIT of a sour taste in my mouth as of late. The last JRPG I beat was FF13 which was OK, before that Resonance of Fate which I LOVED. I'm playing Eternal Sonata now, and Golden Sun Dark Dawn, and Pokemon White on my DS as well...That is when i'm not playing GT5, Forza 3, Race Pro, Ferarri Challenge, WRC, F1, etc...I wish I could meet some other racing nerds as well...anyone??? :hits_self

I grew up as an Atheist, with my feelings of Religion and Church growing more and more cynical as I grew past my teens (as it seems happens with a lot of people) I saw a lot of Hypocrisy for one, and kind of lived on the whole "well i'm a good person, so I don't need God" type of rule... My wife grew up in a very strong Christian family, and a few years after we got married, she wanted me to try some Churches with her, as she felt it would help our relationship. By this time, I had grown up and become a bit more open minded, and I love her, so I decided to go. We tried a few, some were good, some weren't, but never really found one we could call home. Finally we did find one we could call home and that is the one we've been going to ever since. I was Baptized a few years back, and I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour and have tried to apply his teachings to my life (I must stress the word TRY)...I still have a long long road to go but I must say I feel like this is where I need to be.

I don't know what else to say really...Oh my favorite movies in the whole world are Blade Runner and Paprika...Favorite bands, well theres like a new one every day but the ones that I've never stopped loving in the past 10 or so years would be Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Orbital, Aphex Twin...Cant think of any more.

Thats all for now, I hope to make some friends here!
If in doubt, flat out.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.
