Firefox Add-On: Text-to-Image!

Postby ScalpelFactory » Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:12 pm

Hey y'all,

Just thought I would let you know about a nifty add-on for Firefox which converts text links to images, so you can see other people's signature images as small thumbnails without having to click on them!

[HERE you go!]

Just a small note, as someone who develops addons and custom Firefox versions: be careful with extensions that inline media files. If there's a security issue about your browser and the remote file can exploit it, your browser has just automatically loaded that file. This particular extension includes blacklists and other features, which help, but being careful is good.

That said, on just about any forum system including this one, people are including all sorts of stuff in their signatures, but vBulletin only allows certain media types and it can't protect you against a link if your browser follows it without prompting.
