Hello

Postby ecojosh1 » Wed Feb 16, 2011 2:41 am

I'm Josh. I found this site while searching for Christian Anime reviews, so I decided to join. I've lived in North Carolina my whole life. I'm thirty years old, which might be older than most people here. I work in the billing department for a trucking company, and also help at a local therapy ranch. Feel free to ask my anything.

Welcome to CAA! Don't worry about your age, there are actually quite a few members here in their 30's I think. You're never to old to be an anime fan! While I'm at it, what are some of your favorite anime?
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.

What are some of your favorite anime, Josh?

I remember seeing a few anime movies in high school, but I wasn’t into them. Most of them were hilariously bad. When I entered college, one of my friends showed everyone her Slayers tapes. I enjoyed them a lot. The town had a video store that rented out obscure anime titles, and we would rent something every week. Then I saw Princess Monokoke and was mesmerized. I never knew something animated would look so incredible. I immediately became a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki. My favorite anime series is Azumanga Daioh. Kiyohiko Azuma and Hayao Miyazaki need to work together on something. No matter what it is, I would love it.

I've never driven a semi; I've always worked in the company headquarters. I've only been in a truck once, and I was surprised by how big it was. I don't know how those guys do it, especially with people constantly cutting them off in traffic.

Ecojosh1 has been my moniker since high school. I used to be a serious environmentalist, and even majored in environmental studies. I'm not much of an environmentalist any more. My second major was in economics, which also fits the name. After I graduated, I kept the moniker. Plus, "Ecojosh" was the name of a Mary Sue story I wrote in the early Nineties. It was a rip-off of Captain Planet, but without the puns.

Hi Josh!

I'm in my early 30s, and when I joined a few weeks ago, I had much the same feeling of being too old for the forum. But I really didn't need to worry. Not only are there several regular posters in the late-20s-to-early-30s age range, but this is the kind of forum where even the younger folks are quite mature, compared to other places on the internet.
