how is the manga? i haven't got the chance to read that yet, just watch the anime. it quickly became one of my favourites by the end of the first few episodes. so sad there isn't a season 2 yet <hopes>

That’s interesting about how instructors have to go back to Okinawa for training.

yes, sorry. in US. that's one of the things that i really appreciate about the style/organisation.

[quote="Kaori (post: 1449522)"]. . . there’s nothing wrong with the grammar of your last sentence, but you don't actually have to say 私]

ohhh. good to know. ありがと! i've heard it mentioned but it was never really explained. sometimes it's tricky to decide what can and can't be left out. i was told to use a person's name instead of あなた when at all possible.

that's so cool you've been living in Japan for 3 years! i hope to go back there one day and live. <is supremely jealous>

Japanese is a strongly "speaker oriented" language. If you don't specify and it's not contextually influenced, you're the topic. Names are fine. I work with a Japanese nurse, and we "-san" each other to death.
"you're a doctor.... and 27 years.... so...doctor + 27 years = HATORI SOHMA" - RoyalWing, when I was 27
"Al hail the forum editting Shooby! His vibes are law!" - Osaka-chan

I could still be champ, but I'd feel bad taking it away from one of the younger guys. - George Foreman
