How did you Choose your user name?

Talk about anything in here.

"Gelka" is what my lil bro used to call me when he was really young. He couldn't pronounce my real name. xD It just kinda stuck after that. ^^

I was diagnosed with a "freak gene" by my friends at school and the D comes from the first letter of my name and what I am called IRL. I eventually mostly stopped using the "freak".

Tamachan319 came about because the name I originally chose, Bookworm, kept on getting rejected. So I thought about it and asked Airi. She suggested Tama, because it's a common cat name in Japan, and I'm a total cat person. "Chan" is for the same reason Airi has it in her name. 319 is because Airi forced me to have numbers in mine. 3 and 1 for my birthday, and 9.......because I just like the number 9. <--- really profound there.
So in short, Airi basically suggested my entire name. haha.

When plagued with indecisiveness... throw darts at a wall.

And Nate, I can not figure out how anyone would confuse you for a female, especially with your current SN.

I will say, this site has some very interesting SNs, more so than most sites I frequent.

Back when I was young and was joining CAA, I had to choose a username. I hadn't seen many anime at that point, so I was having difficulty, as I didn't have a character I wanted to just take the name from. Eventually, I decided on Hats because I still like Bleach then and couldn't think of a good FMA username. It works, and I don't think I'll be changing it in the forseeable future, though for other stuff I'm going to start using Silver Hammer, and if that's taken, Broom Meister.

Oh, is that what it's from? I dunno, I never watched Sailor Moon. I thought you were referring to this guy.

Also, I think the gender confusion sprung from the short nickname, "Kae", which sounded somewhat feminine.

TWWK is an abbreviation used by members of another board for my original user name, The World We Know. That, in turn, is a revision of the title of the Collective Soul song, "The World I Know," with which I was obsessed at the time.

Dango Daisuki

Postby DangoDaikazoku » Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:21 pm

My normal username is Fernclouds. This did not seem to fit the theme of anime and Christianity, seeing as it came from a novel series about feral cats. Since I have an obsession with Clannad, dangos were the next thing to enter my mind. For those who don't know, dangos (japanese for dumplings) are pretty much the cute mascot of the anime Clannad. Dango Daikazoku means The Big Dango Family. They are pretty much circles with two slashes for eyes.

Actually, my old username used to be BethanyCG, wich is actually my pen name. :) But, I decided having my lame old pen name for my username was rather boring. Before I had even considered changing my username I had talked to Sparx00. He wanted to give me a nickname. So, after some collaborating he came up with Ella Edric. XD It was his nickname for me for a while, then when I decided to change my username I had it changed to that cause I liked it so much! XD So I must give Sparx cudos for this username. XD

I don't know about the "Sae" part. I really haven't even seen any shows with that name in it. The "-chan" part was "obviously, because I'm a girl, and all Japanese girls have -chan tagged on the back of their names..."

While I can never tell when you're joking, Furen, since this is General, I'm going to take all the fun out of this for everyone (and maybe you) and explain this to you. XD;

Next to choosing a random name out of a hat, the next option is a dartboard (which requires more skill than luck). You paste all your choices around the dartboard, throw a dart and wherever it lands, that's your choice.

Alternatively, I know the real reason RoyMustang picked that username.

I haven't posted here yet?:hits_self
Anyway, way back in the 90's, a song called "Love Shack" by The B-52s was quite popular on the radio. I liked it and eventually got the CD Cosmic Thing, which the song is from. I quickly found out the band had been around since the 70's and started picking up their earlier albums, including their self-titled debut, which gave us their iconic song, "Rock Lobster". The B-52's are my favorite band of all time for their unique sound and cheerful music. When I started using the Internet, I wanted to profess my love for this band, so I decided to use their most well-known song as my username.

I was on a Jane Austen kick when I joined (erm...I still am I suppose), and Knightly from Emma (not the manga) is my favorite Austen hero. Change the spelling a bit and it doesn't directly refer to Austen or male characters.

My username came from 6th/7th grade when my friends and I were all in Spanish class. We were covering -AR verbs (cocinar, hablar, necesitar, etc.) My friends decided to make my real name (Sheena) into an -AR verb. Thus was born Sheenar.
Another name I sometimes use also comes from high school. A friend of mine would sing "Sheena Las Vegas!" in the hallway when he would see me between classes --so I can sometimes be found as Sheenalasvegas.
