I think you'd be a fan of Rurouni Kenshin.Riza (post: 1419699) wrote:Im looking for a new Manga to read. Any suggestions? I really Liked FullMetal Alchemist and Fruits Basket was okay (too girly).

Atria35 (post: 1420236) wrote:Well, that depends. The plot for the first volume is thrown away for the plot in the rest of the series. Which plot were you interested in? THe cross-dressing one? Or the gang-romance?

Is there any bad content in it, like nudity or "bad religion"? Thanks a lot!

I see it was good to ask you. A friend of mine wanted to sell this manga to me.
I am reading this one right now. Only through volume one, but so far any nudity that has been present has been completely undetailed. Confirmation on the gore. Certain panels are more disturbing/over-the-top than Baccano! gets. PM me if you want specifics on that score, though.Atria35 (post: 1421719) wrote:Warnings: Very bloody. It's a Baccano!-style gorefest. I think there's also some nudity in there, but I can't remember if it was fanservice-y nudity or not.
Well, if you looked a little farther down, you would have seen a thread about Pandora Hearts.AnimeGirl (post: 1423255) wrote:I saw volume 1 of Pandora Hearts at the bookstore. It's a series I've been really wanting to try out. I listened to some of the music from the anime on YouTube (Yuki Kajiura composed it! Yay! I'm so buying this soundtrack!!!). Is it good? Whats the content? Thanks!

Could you please tell me something about NANA and Shinobi Life? The same questions as usual. ^^ Is there any bad content in it, like nudity or "bad religion"? Thanks a lot!

@Atria: well, I read Higurashi on OneManga, and come to think of it seems like someone said the language is worse in scanlations, so that may have had something to do with it.
I'm not entirely sure it's even possible to hate Yotsuba&! barring some deep-seated hatred of humanity in general. It's good clean Manga. If you see it, definitely check it out.Sapphy (post: 1425402) wrote:Yotsuba&!
FMA is good. Read it.Sapphy (post: 1425402) wrote:FMA
Bleach is awful. Don't read it.Sapphy (post: 1425402) wrote:Bleach (maybe)
There is a reason for this, not that it fully justifies it. If my cursory knowledge of Japanese isn't inaccurate, it's a language is heavy on context - their concept of bad language isn't really comparable with ours. No bad words, only bad intent, or something like that. This leads less professional translators to swap in harsher English to better convey the mood of the speaker, as they assume a direct translation doesn't carry the same weight.Atria35 (post: 1425531) wrote:Sometimes the language is worse in scanlations
Mr. Hat'n'Clogs (post: 1367139) wrote:Fullmetal Alchemist-I'm not sure if this one quite falls within your guidelines, as the violence on rare occasion is mildly gory, and the cussing is more than occasional, though it certainly isn't a cluster F-Bomb. But if it does work, please check it out, the series is a masterpiece of well-written characters, a fantastic storyline and some thought-provoking questions. One extremely minor character has a couple homosexual lines, but otherwise the series is clean sexually.
manga is very clean.

Kimi ni Todoke: this is, like, one of the cleanest shoujo manga series I've ever read. It's become an instant favorite, and is just a very sweet story with likeable characters. Highly recommended!
