I went to a Christian school, and the cheerleader skirts there were just above the knee.

I went to a public school and the cheerleader skirts there were quite a bit shorter than that. XD Or maybe my memories are fuzzy and I'm just projecting my desires into them. They're both equally likely I guess.

Dude, at my private Christian school cheerleader skirts were every bit as short as the shorter miniskirts out there. XD The funny part is that we weren't allowed shorts or skirts more than a few inches above the knee. XD It was a double standard and it was totally lame, but it doesn't make miniskirts any more comfortable to wear in public. XD Therefore, miniskirts FTL.

Also, I can never wear heels with a pointed toe like that. XD It is SO uncomfortable! I can handle a heel that small, but not where the toe is pointed. XD Round or square toes FTW. XD

Hey, I like pointy-toed shoes-- if they fit right. They can make your legs look longer.

Also with vests, they probably have to be tailored to fit you just like a jacket would. You can't just grab one off the rack and expect it to fit you perfectly. Pain in the butt? Yes, but like Mary said, looking good ain't easy.

The 'vampire/twilight/demonic things are cool' phase lots of teens and tweens seem to be going though. It's sickening how they expose themselves to it.

Thinking of which, I was at Meijer last night with my roommate and two of our floormates, and my roommate wandered away from the group to go find stickers (She's doing a creative encouragement letter project) and the three of us eventually wandered into the children's toys section, and came across Twilight Barbies. I didn't look long enough, but I'm quite positive the only thing the Jacob Barbie was wearing was shorts. o.O; Then we took the other Twilight Barbies and hid the Jacob Barbies behind them saying, "Ahh, X-rated Barbies are not meant for kids!" XD We found my roommate and told her why it was taking so long to make it to the front of the store, and we all came to a concensus that we need to make clothes for Jacob Barbie, with love from our Bible College! XDDD

As far as fads go, I'm getting worried that sticky notes are going to become all the rage soon here in college, at least in the women's dorm. My roommate and I began with one sticky note to eachother, and now three weeks later we've gone through...close to 200 notes between the two of us, and our neighbors are doing the same with eachother, and then one of them mentioned it last night at devotionals. I was like, "NOOOOOOO, don't mention the sticky notes!!!" xD

Yes! I wholeheartedly agree, my parents didn't allow us to get them when we were little anyway, but I always thought they were gross looking.

As for the Twilight fad, I know that in a few years. It's going to be something else that the teens and pre teens will go overboard with.

I actually used to think that when I was 13, and was stupid.
Because I didn't want to have to go through the pain then to get them done. = P

But honestly, I could have easily done without getting my ears pierced. And I think it's pretty terrible to pierce your kid's ears when they can't even voice their own opinion as to if they even WANT to get their ears pierced.

Twilight bugs me a lot, but probably for different reasons than it bugs everyone else. I don't care about the vampire stuff. I mean, whatever, that's fine. Girls can obsess over that all they want, go nuts. Yeah, that's definitely true.
It's way over dramatic. That was my biggest pet peeve about it.
I watched part of the first one, and watched the second one with a cousin of mine who was an addict. And I was done, it was such a waste of time and money.

This may sound shocking to some, but I'm gonna have to say the whole iPhone and iPad thing that Apple is going with now, is perhaps the latest trend of cool electronics, but ultimately its an ugly, hyper-nuclear fad.

I mean, there's this recent Best Buy ad where "the coolest thing" about this Samsung TV (I forget which model) is that "you've got all these apps at your fingertips"...:| really??? the thing that makes the TV so awesome is something completely irrelevant to the main functions of a television?...

That's part of the reason I like Mulan the most. Even though she does end up with a guy at the end, that is not her main motivation. Though, granted, her only choices are "get married," or "pretend to be a man," so, not really a big win for women there.

Speaking of Disney movies and fads and such, for some reason Lilo and Stitch is SUPER popular here in Japan. It's kind of weird. But the upshot is, nobody cares about Twilight. XD

Ok, I'll say it. I. Like. Twilight. The books are the best, and apart form the first one, the movies seem decent enough. I am not obsessed with it, but I am proud to be a person who likes it not for the sake of popularity. A lot of people I know were all over it when it was the it thing, but then when it's more popular to dislike it, they switch. Also, Twilight Barbies are overkill. Normal Barbies should go into bad fads. They are inapropriate for children and give girls bad body image. If anyone else here knows their origin, you'd be creeped out too.

I think it's funny and kinda sad how much Twilight is brought up on this thread. I know how everyone who is complaining about it feels though. There is a book/movie fad from a few years ago that really irritated me. Harry Potter. Everyone went crazy over that for a time also, and my friend is still not over that phaze.
