Please pray for my friend's son

Postby Sheenar » Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:52 pm

Please be in prayer for my friend (Handsome's trainer) and her son. Her son hasn't been feeling well lately and they went to see a doctor. They were told that it wasn't an emergency, but there is something going on with his liver and they need to go to a lab for blood tests. My friend is now trying to find a lab that has an opening for him this weekend (though the holiday is making everything crazy and a lot of them are closed.)
Her son is 5 years old. My friend is also currently 7 months pregnant with his baby sister. Please pray for her, her son, and her husband. This is a lot of stress on them and they are worried about him.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Praying, keep us posted
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

Things are not going well. Here is the update she posted today:

Likely taking Brenden to the hospital. He's lost a lot of weight and feels too sick to eat enough to make up the losses or even maintain what little weight he's got left.
He looks like a little Ethiopian kid-- his bones stick out all over but his liver is enlarged and he's retaining fluid, so his belly pokes out and is stiff.
Any pray...ers or good vibes would be welcome.

A bit later:
Talked to a nurse from the answering service Brenden's doctor uses-- she said it doesn't sound like he's in immediate danger, so he can wait and see his regular doctor in the morning, and we'll likely run more tests then.
Spence and I are pretty freaked out, but we'll sit tight for today and wait until tomorrow. If the doc thinks Brenden should be admitted to the hospital then we'll go then.

Why does this kind of crap always happen on holiday weekends when nothing's open????

Please continue to be in prayer for Brenden and his parents.

Latest news is that Brenden is spending the night in the hospital. They still don't know what's wrong, but have ruled out several things that it is not. His grandmother is staying the night with him there and his parents will be back with him really early in the morning.

Please continue to keep them in your prayers. I sometimes wonder why things like this happen to children. I mean, he's only 5 years old and has just started Kindergarten. He shouldn't have to deal with something like this.

We're all really worried about him.

That is very sad news- but the more things they rule out, the closer they get to what it is! Praying he gets better soon!

Latest on Brenden:

Of all the absurd crap!!
We have a diagnosis for Brenden:
He has freaking Giardia!!

Giardia is a parasite that we see ALL THE TIME in dogs-- so often that we even vaccinate for it-- comes from drinking dirty water. We think he likely got it from playing in the kiddy pool in the backyard (which will be thrown away the second we get home).

He's down to 38lbs, so he's got a good bit of recovering to do, but he'll be discharged from the hospital this afternoon.

Brenden and his family are now home! He is going to be okay! Praise God! Thank you all for your prayers. :D

Thank God they found it soon enough.
