^ Mythbusters? So are you an Adam or Jamie fan?

I like Jamie because he's got that "bunny ears lawyer" side to him. It's amazing how he always has a solution. I also like Grant from the build team. His robots are cool.
Favorite Mythbusters quote?

"I reject your reality and substitute my own." Adam said it when he misquoted himself.
Favorite Mythbusters episode?

I have quite a few: the lego ball, the shooting fish in a barrel episode, and the duct tape episodes (they made a cannon out of duct tape...AND IT WORKED!)
Which FMA?

Unlike some people, I'm going to say both have their strengths. The newer version is better in terms of pacing, but I still like the old one too. I can't understand why people have such venom against it since I know for a fact the manga-ka actually wanted the original one to be different. So she actually approves of the original's direction.

both!
2. Beethoven or Mozart, if either.

Beethoven, because it's so sad that he couldn't hear a lot of his music.
3. Green or Blue?

both.
4. Dodge Challenger, or 1967 Corvette?

The Challenger was driven by the Dukes of Hazzard, right? If so, then that one.
5. Fancy Restaurant or take out?

Take out. I'm cheap.
6. Camping or All Night Video Game Party?

video game party
7. Paper or Plastic?

Plastic. I don't give a darn about my carbon footprint, Al Gore.

XIII, you remind me of a song...
and yeah, I like cheese. Especially pepperjack, montery jack, and swiss.
Double or nothing?

I don't gamble.
Top to bottom or bottom to top?

What's this refer to?
Is the glass half-full? And what's in the glass?

Um, I need more Squirt here, I've only got half a glass! (In case you don't know, Squirt is a grapefruit-flavored soda.)
Movie that made you cry? (or at least feel like it)

Quite a few:
Marley and Me (I love dogs)
Bambi (come on, who didn't cry when his mom died?)
Old Yeller (guess why)
The Ultimate Gift
Grave of the Fireflies (I almost lost it when Seita's sister died)
Most boring movie you've ever seen?

Recently, it was Gamer. This is an extremely violent movie with practically no substance. Ugh.

depends on time. if there's enough, it's Monopoly or Clue. If it's a moderate amount, I'd probably play Battleship.

Atria35 (post: 1421724) wrote:1. Do you like the Iron Giant?

Yes! When I first saw it, I was amazed at the weight of the subject matter. Usually American animators try to be all warm and fuzzy like Disney. And that's fine, but kids can handle deep stuff. If they couldn't, they wouldn't be analyzing books like The Giver.
2. Ever seen The Brave Little Toaster?

Just the first one. When I heard Phil Hartman had died, (he played the radio, in case you didn't know), I lost all desire to see the sequels. I didn't want to hear who replaced Hartman, because no one could. He was a superb voice actor and comedian. Besides, most Disney direct-to-video sequels suck anyway. The only ones I really liked were the ones for Lilo and Stitch and The Lion King. (well not 1 1/2, but I did like the second one).
3. Grimm's Fairytales, or Disney's Fairytales?

Grimm's. Once you read the actual fairy tales, you'll be amazed. I was like "people read this to their kids? There's people getting beheaded and tortured!" Actually, I like Hans Christian Andersen's stories best. If you haven't read them yet, you should. His best ones are "The Little Mermaid" and "The Snow Queen." Why Disney hasn't done The Snow Queen is beyond me.
4. Saddest song you've ever heard?

It's not supposed to be a sad song, but "If We Hold On Together" always gets me. Here's the link: click here. Diana Ross sings the song beautifully.
5. Most uplifting song?

Got a couple, and I'll even provide links since I think they're pretty obscure:
1. "Candle on the Water" by Helen Reddy (from the underrated Disney movie Pete's Dragon)
2. "The Rose" by Bette Midler. A really good summary of what love is. We are all seeds shaped into being by God, who is love itself. That's the whole point of the song.

1. Best TV series

Sci-fi: Doctor Who and the original Star Trek. I guess Lost qualifies too, but it's kinda light on the sci-fi and most of the sci-fi elements aren't even there at the start. It's like they were trying to hide the fact that they were a sci-fi show. I also liked Quantum Leap.
non Sci-fi: Home Improvement was one of my all-time favorite sitcoms back in the day. It still makes me laugh when there's nothing else on. And even though it was cheesy as can be, I also liked the A-team.
2. Favorite film genre?

Sci-fi and Fantasy. I like my sci-fi both light and heavy. Light sci-fi would be stuff like Star Wars, Doctor Who, or Terminator. Heavy sci-fi is stuff like Total Recall, Star Trek, or Blade Runner. In other words, movies with more stuff under the surface than just your basic sci-fi movie.
3. Favorite theological book?

Mere Christianity or The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. I'm also browsing through a great book called My Life with The Saints, which explores the author's thoughts about the various saints that influenced his life, people like Joan of Arc, Jude, and Peter. Even if you're not a Catholic, the saints are fascinating role models.
4. Best movie pre-70's?

Can I recommend more than one? If so, then try these:
It's a Wonderful Life (THE Christmas movie!)
Vertigo (creepy Hitchcock at his best!)
War of the Worlds (1960's version. Sure it looks cheesy these days, but it still holds up in my book. The UFO's look awesome with eye stalks firing lasers that can vaporize anything on contact.)
Citizen Kane (there's a reason it's on the top of the best classics list)
Casablanca (if you haven't seen this movie, you've probably heard at least one trademark line. It's just that good and Humphrey Bogart pulls off a great performance)
2001: A Space Odyssey (beautiful score and pretty epic story. The subject matter qualifies as a mind screw, however, so don't over-analyse it. An excellent movie by Stanley Kubrick based on a great Arthur C. Clarke book)
Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (another excellent Kubrick piece. This movie is non-stop hilarity. I especially love the part where the guy says "Gentlemen, there's no fighting in the war room!" Except for, you know, the fighting we're strategizing :thumb:
5. Do you have a favorite piece of clothing?

I used to have a T-shirt for the Bone comic book. Unfortunately, I outgrew it. Now my favorite shirt is a bright orange shirt with white stripes.

K. Ayato (post: 1421878) wrote:How do you feel about the new Hawaii Five-O series coming out?

Not sure. I never watched the old one, so I have nothing to compare it to.

12 Rounds, a John Cena movie. Kinda like Die Hard.
Have a favorite webcomic?

Ozy and Millie was good and I also like Freefall. I also read the following newspaper comic strips online:
Brewster Rockit (a Buck Rogers parody)
Mallard Fillmore (conservative-political cartoon)
Zits (Teenager with goofy parents)
Sherman's Lagoon (a shark and his pals)

Should I do one of these?
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

2. Favorite thing to do with your family?

Play the Wii
3. Best show to have on in the background?

It's not a show, per se, but I love having "Music Choice" in the background.
4. Show you wish you could follow regularly, but aren't at home to see when it's on?

The Doctor Who reboot. It has nothing to do with time, but with the fact that my cable company thinks I need to spend extra money on a digital box so I can watch the BBC. Fortunately, that's what Youtube and Dailymotion.com is for! Dailymotion even has the classic 60-80's version!

Read and write. I also have a sudoku puzzle machine that I play with. Oh, and I play the piano too.
2. Are you involved in any local community activites outside of the anime club thing?

To be honest, the club is slow in going. I and the librarian are the only people who show up because of school and such (I graduated, so I have no school to worry about. However, I do have work...sometimes) As for other community activities, I was once an usher at a Catholic church when I lived in Grand Isle. Does that count?
3. Would you rather live in a city, the suburbs, or a small town?
It doesn't matter, I've lived in all three. I'm not much for going out and socializing, so it really doesn't make much difference.
4. Who's your favorite classical composer?
I like Beethoven, Muzio Clementi, and Bach.
