Living Arrangements

Postby Sheenar » Thu Jul 22, 2010 12:36 am

I'll turn a long story into a really short summary.

My current living arrangements are not good. The apartment itself is very nice and the staff here are all wonderful. Great amenities.

It's my roommate (and her boyfriend who moved in.) Things are not going well --I won't go into details at this time. Suffice it to say that things are not good.

So I am in need of more suitable housing in a more positive environment. I'm going to make a phone call in the morning to see what my options are.

Please pray for this situation. I'll keep you all posted.

Oh, man. When BFs also move in, things tend to go from bad to worse :eyeroll:. It's just a trend I've noticed. Even if there's a problem with the roommate, boyfriends only add to the issues.

Hoping you're able to find new living arrangements, soon!

Still looking. I was put on the waiting list for a place in the next town and tomorrow I am going to drive and go look at the 2 low-income apartment complexes in my town and see what they're like (accessibility, if they feel "iffy", etc.)

I will keep you guys updated. Thank you for the prayers! :D

I am now on the waiting lists for 2 more apartment complexes. Hoping and praying that something opens soon.

Things are still not going well here between my cousin/her boyfriend and I. It's just not working out. I still love her dearly, but I no longer wish to live with her or her boyfriend. I like them both as people. This is just one of those situations where you can be friends as long as you don't live together.

My aunt tried to play "mediator" on Friday and just kind of made things worse, in my perspective. It's like the majority of the blame for us not getting along and for the problems here was heaped on me and there was a lot of use of "never" and "always."

I just want out. I'm done. I've got enough going on mentally, physically, and spiritually that I don't need this extra stress. I'm starting to feel very burned out.

The proverbial crap has hit the fan! Another big fight. In the process of the fight, my cousin made a veiled threat to kick me out (which she can do since she's the main person on the lease --all she has to do is sign me off as a roommate.)

I really need a new place to live ASAP. The waiting lists are too long and I'm stuck where I am. I have no place to go until an apartment on the waiting list becomes available.

I'm going to try calling the places that I'm on the waiting lists for and see if anything has become available --and let them know I'm in need of housing very urgently.

I don't feel safe here. It's having a HUGE negative effect on me mentally and physically. I need to get out. I wish I could leave tonight, at least (cousin and boyfriend are leaving for the weekend tomorrow) so I won't have to deal with anymore b.s. for a little while, but my friend is out tonight and my mom is already asleep (she works really early in the morning.)

So, yeah, prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Sheenar, I've dealt with this very same issue in the past...it's tough but God WILL get you through, and he WILL mend any relationship strain that this is causing between the two of you...

I'm definitely praying for you, chica! If you need anything I'm only a PM away! *hugs*

Praying Sheenar that they tell you something positive soon about the apartments! I believe God knows what is going on and will meet your needs.

Two more fights on Friday. I had to evacuate my apartment quickly because of the verbal abuse. My cat, my dog in training, and I stayed with a friend for a few days (until today), then we will be staying with a relative who offered to let me stay with her until an apartment opens up --for only $200/month in rent (and no other fees).

I haven't been able to go and get anything from the apartment since I left (I took a small bag with enough for a few days)--because they were always there each time I tried to stop by. I really, really need to get the rest of Marzipan's food, some clothes, my groceries, and my stuff for school (the Fall semester starts on Wed.) I am really hoping to be able to get those things while they are not there --so I don't have to deal with any more abuse.

I have a storage unit now, so I am hoping to be able to move EVERYTHING out within a week (depending on availability of help.)

Thank you all for praying. It really does mean a lot to me. :)

Really bad day today. REALLY bad.

It started out okay. I went by the apartment around noon (texted Krys to let her know I was coming) and put some more stuff into bags. Loaded up my car with stuff. Chit-chatted with Krys as I was packing. It was pretty uneventful. Car was then full and I said my goodbyes and that I would be back tomorrow after church for another load (and that my friend is coming Monday to move my furniture.) It was about 2 when I left.

Well, I got not even 2 blocks away from the apartment complex and I curb-checked (was in the right lane) and my right front tire blew (there were pieces of it in the grass.) Great. Fantastic.
Called Roadside Assistance and they said a wrecker would arrive in 30 min. to help put the spare on. Well, I put on my hazards and pulled into a parking lot nearby to get out of the street. Thankfully, it was right next to a Waffle House so I got to sit in the A/C while I waited and enjoy tea and a grilled cheese sandwich (I had eaten nothing all day.) Guy arrived and put on the spare. I then realized that I didn't have enough cash on my to pay for a replacement tire and that I had a checkbook back at the apartment that I found while packing and forgot to take with me.

So I go back to the apartment. I put my key in the lock and open the door. I go into my bedroom, pick up my checkbook, and rush to go back out the door to get to the shop at Walmart (I was supposed to be somewhere at 5:30 --it was around 3). My cousin yells out my name right as I'm hitting the door. She then proceeds to chew me out for not calling and letting her know that I was coming. I tried explaining to her that I used my key to get into my apartment to get my checkbook so I could pay for a tire for my car. She was still chewing me out --saying she thought somebody was breaking in. I told her that only she and I had keys. She still was adamant that I should have called and that I should be thinking of other people. She kept going on and on. I didn't want to stay and keep taking verbal abuse, so I walked out and left for the shop.

On the way, Krys called me. I didn't answer because I was driving. Then Daniel called me. He had the nerve to say, "Can I ask you for a favor?" and then proceed to tell me that I should call before I stop by the apartment. Never mind that I had a flat tire. Never mind that I was just in and out quickly to get my checkbook that I forgot. And he also kept going on and on about it --and insinuating that I was wrong for using my key to get into my apartment. And he asked me how I was driving with a flat tire --after I had told them both at the apartment that Roadside had put on my spare. I was at the shop by this time and told him I was tired of the B.S. and that my day was stressful enough already --and we would talk later --and hung up on him.

I am so, so tired of all this crap. 2 more days and all my stuff will be out. If they try to raise any trouble tomorrow, I won't hestitate to call the police. I need to get the rest of my stuff out tomorrow, leaving only the furniture left to move on Monday. Then I'm done. And I won't be around them and their craziness anymore.

Please, please pray for this situation. Pray for tomorrow and Monday when I am finishing up moving my stuff. I pray that they don't try to start anything more. I really do not want or need any more verbal abuse. My mom told me to call the police if they try to start something over me going to get my stuff (I told them I was coming back tomorrow). But I am really hoping it doesn't come to that. I just want to go in, pack stuff into my car and leave.

In other news, I had a fun evening seeing friends in my college town. There was even a movie on the big hill on campus --they put up a big screen and we all sat on the grass. It was really fun and a great destressor from the day.

Jeez, I'm glad you're moving out! They sound like totaly jerkfaces! No one should have to go though that. And you'd think that they'd never had roommates before- seriously, if you know someone lives with you, it's silly to automatically assume it's an intruder! My housemates in England never called beforehand because we were all adults!

Hoping things work out for the better!

I am finally COMPLETELY moved out! I got the last of my stuff out and into storage yesterday. My cousin signed me off the lease as a roommate, so I am good to go.

So now, I am staying with my mom until an apartment becomes available. Last I heard, the wait list is 2-4 months. I am so grateful to have a safe place to stay until then. :D

Thank you all for your prayers!
