I'm back.

I know I left CAA for a bit cause I need to get some things right in my life. I was messing up big time. But now think are starting to get back a little straight. So yea I just wanted to say I'm back & wondering what been going on on the forums.

Also BTW I got the Second book in the Manga Messiah series about 2 weeks ago. I got the Manga Metophhosis. I'm liking it so far. I'm think of letting my best friend barrow my Manga Messiah Bible. Which is the first book in the Series. I don't know if my friend has accept JESUS CHRIST into his heart but for awhile he was going to church with me but he stop going cause of work & cause he started to Play D&D, he said he didn't like what people at the church would be think of him cause of it. But I'm praying that my friend will go back to church with me for the Revival going on a my Church on the 12th of June. But I don't want to ask him & seem like I forcing him I just really want him know JESUS like I know JESUS as my personal Savior & get him around some good Church people. Cause the people he is around now are not good church people there let's just say not saved & say some pretty creppy things.

Which was why I stop playing D&D with them cause one of them started to actually want to get into the thing of the occult & witchcraft & said Quote "Hail me I am a spawn of the DEVIL" that is why I stop playing D&D with them & why I worried about my friend. So yea I'm just praying he accepts my church invention.

What else do you guys think I should do & do you think I'm being to worried & forceful. Also please pray that me friend does accept my invention back to the Church.

In any case, sounds like a complicated situation. You're friend has fallen in with a bad crowd. I can say that the D&D by itself, when played by a person with a trusted group of friends, and not taken seriously, doesn't necessarily cause spiritual corruption- I regularly play with both Christians and non-Christians, and none of us have ever felt the need to experiment with the occult or turn to Satanism. One of your options - because he's stated that he feels uncomfortable at your Church because of the perceptions of D&D- is to create a different version of the game itself.

Let me clarify- the scenarios presented by the company are merely guidelines. You can take the basic rules (the stats, the dice rules, etc.) and create your own game out of it. My friends and I never use the scenarios given, because we find them so limiting- we usually base scenarios off of books we've read. For instance, we made a scenario based off of a children's fantasy novel that I have very fond memories of, involving a group of humans that were out to slaughter unicorns, and in the game, we had to be the ones that stopped them and save the unicorns. In the same way, you (and hopefully people from your church would be happy to help and play with you) could create something that was fun and spiritually safe.

That would probably ease his mind a lot and perhaps he'd feel more comfortable coming to church.

Thanks for that. Not everybody at my church had a problem with him playing D&D. Heck I didn't ether. But the reason I stop playing was cause it seems like curtain people in are group was taking it to far & actually want to do thing of Satanic Nature & of witchcraft like Wicca. So yea because I felt uncomfortable with playing with people like that in my group I stopped. Heck the guy that was wanting to do the things of the occult & is also a freaking pervert which also sickens me. He is very much into Hentai & there where serveral times when he came to our D&D season with nothing but a Digital camera full of Hentai pictures. It really sicken me. So I had to stop.

Unfortunately the guy that was doing as doing all this stuff was my Friends, Friend. So yea I couldn't just ask him to stop coming to the season. So I stop going instead. Actually my friends have ask the guy to stop being inappropriate when we where playing but he never listens. So yea I just stop playing with them cause I didn't feel to comfortable. But yea I have thought about going up there & playing with my friend every once in awhile. But yea I just don't like that guy & the why he speaks.

Also one last thing the people that didn't like him playing D&D aren't at my Church anymore. But yea I really want him to come back to church with me & come to the revival. I think it would be good for him. My Church Pastor is always asking me about him & he liked him. So yea I wanting him to come back to church with me.

Oh my friend I'm talking about his name is Lance. The guy that was making the inappropriate jokes & wanting to get into the occult his name is Shawn.
The Shawn guy I don't like & I pray for, But my friend Lance has a good heart & I think it would be good for him to come back to church with me. So that's the situation as it stands now.

Ah, that clarifies things a bit more. I'm sorry about your friend Lance, and hope he comes back. I can understand why you'd stop playing witha group like that.

Have you and a few people from your church thought about making a D&D group? How about inviting Lance to play with you guys? That might make him more comfortable with coming to Church, since it would show that you're not all against it, and it would provide a safe place to play with nice people.

I'll be praying for you too, man. I've been working on making a campaign setting for Christian players myself, and it will hopefully settle some fears; unfortunately, your friends found a corrupting influence in it, so I think you made the right decision in stopping playing for a good while.
