Well, at least when I almost drowned it wasn't in three feet of water......

Hat'n'Clogs, what happened to making sacrifices for the sake of the journey, huh?

At least your wagon leader didn't die from a bullet wound immediately after I went hunting during a buffalo stampede...

Two outcomes for this smallpox:

1. This will bring us closer as an oregon trail family.

2. This will bring us an easy meal.

Don't worry Hat'n'clogs, as our brave leader and head physician, I would never leave you behind...now "accidentally" placing you in the wagon of a certain someone who wanted to leave us all behind is a completely different matter entirely.

Anyway, more Let's Play OTII!!!!

Image
Our last spring before the Big Blue River. Take in the beauty of its waterfall, and forget all about the diseased individual laying in the back of the wagon.

Image
...traffic jam...1800s style...well, no choice but to wait.

Image
...um, yeah, we'll wait some more...don't want anyone drowning in a somewhat respectable depth of water.

Image
Oh come on! We were here first!!!:mutter:

Image
Well, this is probably the best conditions we'll get. Time to ford another river...LEROY JENKINS!!!!!

Image
We're doing it...WE'RE DOING IT!!!

Image
...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF...well, at least we still have our health...

Image
COME ON!!! What, did you hit your head on a rock? Oh well, I guess I'll choose to administer that thing with the name I don't recognize. That should fix Mith up...

I dunno, opium is supposed to supposed to be a great painkiller - IF you don't get addicted that is. Now, there have been people with so much pain that it doesn't work.

How do you feel? Pain level?

Or maybe it's Peanut's turn, nothing has happened to him yet.

Not that I'd ever wish that, 'cause I love my family!

Your right, I should have chosen to have you dance about as our evening entertainment. Wouldn't of helped you much, but it would have raised our moral quite a bit.

I think it would be most helpful to know what the "various other items" are that keep getting lost in rivers. Someone's gonna end up wondering where the heck their deodorant and toothbrush went.

You can't buy toothbrushes or deodorant in Oregon Trail. What are you suggesting?

This thread is hilarious. XD I wasn't even on the second page yet and I was busting up laughing. It brings back such nostalgia of me playing this game at my grandma's house... and I played it at school, too. It was pretty darn popular, I do recall. :0

Would it still work for Windows XP? I haven't played a computer game apart from Sims games in forever, but now I'm getting the urge to play it and Rollercoaster Tycoon again.

Well, I managed to get OT 5 to work on my Mac computer, I bet if you run it in compatibility mode on an XP it should work.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I've been playing OTII on XP with my standard settings. It works fine outside of the sound being screwed up, its not in fullscreen (which is actually good for what I'm doing) and a single occasion when it crashed while I tried playing it and doing skype at the same time. Anyway, more Let's Play OTII!!!

Image
By "road junction" the game means a pretty picture to stop gameplay while it continues you on the same, linear path to Oregon.

Image
...haha! Nice try water. Fool me once into fording you, shame on you. Fool me several other times into fording you, shame on me. We'll find a different trail.

Image
Increase fluid intake...come back to me when you catch something interesting...like Cholera!

Image
The narrows...its quite narrow, but in actuality its just a segue to...

Image
...a new map screen!! We can do this people! We can make it to Oregon with no casualties!!!

Image
Not only have we made it to a new screen, but we also have the fourth to celebrate. Break out the opiates and medicinal whiskey!!!! (Note: The creator of this thread in no way condones the use of drugs or underage drinking...)

Image
...there's nothing I have to add to this picture's humor...nothing...

Image
But, before we leave, let me show off trading. Throughout the entirety of our journey, we have been able to trade with random people! And, because we're low on bullets and I have to get my hunting fix, I'm going to give away some of our clothing for more ammunition, hoping that I can actually start shooting things again (spoilers...I can't).

Image
With no way to hunt, my only option is to buy another gun. Seeing as how this is a fort, I'm sure it has both a gun and will probably be a pretty cool place. SO LET'S GO!!!

Image
...gosh...even the forts in the mid-west are the most boring things ever...

Next time, we brave boredom in Fort Kearney so I can contribute to the death of many a creature.
