The Reflection Diet (40 Days of Diet)

Talk about anything in here.

Ok, yesterday I fell off a bit. It's really dissapointing, but I was in a really bad slump and needed something to grant me some energy given that it was my final or second to final Sunday before having to turn in a major project and I had tons of reading to still do. In any case I did make a conscious effort to eat healthier and was surprised that my natural portions (what it took to make me full) were far reduced. Can't keep that up though and today I was back at it with a vengeance, with a salad and sandwich.

To be honest, my diet theory it turning more and more into just plain making decisions on my own using the experience I've had till now. The other options that are available are often times unhealthy, I know it and I just plain stay away from them unless there is some really weird combo and I'm feeling adventurous (like the occasional half-slice of pizza and nothing but Salad).

I did manage to stick off soda yesterday though and am still holding at 276 I suppose this means that if I'm still there tomorrow, I should start reducing things even further. But at least it's holding.

Last nights weight 276, sheesh - something has to give here, maybe I need more exercise instead of grading all these papers.

You must have cut though weight by 100 at least 5 of the times we have spoken. XD You'll get there eventually though.

This proves that I'm thinking positively JM, and that I'm 176 pounds in my mind even if not in body. Of course, when we get around the teens this will be frightening, I WEIGH 113 POUNDS! (I don't even remember a time I was ever that light)

ok... I learned something the hard way yesterday...

DO NOT GO COLD TURKEY ON A WORK DAY T_T.

I brain my think i hurt. I had no mtn dew yesterday and I could feel my higher brain functions shutting down by the hour. Migraines, Heart palpitations, and blurred vision.

I plowed through a 2-litter today and I am back to normal. (whatever that is) I am going to have my wife come up with a plan to decrease my soda intake during the weekends

O_O. I'm sorry to hear that, it is really hard to do. Perhaps you should have just tried to wean yourself off it. Maybe get a smaller mountain dew for the day and offset it with some water as well.

Come on you can do it! BELIEVE IT!

We're still rootin' for you!

Pascal: Its okay to eat a few things once in a while like you mentioned. That actually helps you stay on your program. Kudos for your diligence!

Hakaii: My brother & I found that if we mixed Tropicana Orangeaid w/ Mt. Dew. 1/2 & 1/2, still get the lift without the buzz. (In Mt. Dew lingo)

No kidding. Cold turkey was not my brightest idea. I especially need to plan when I'm going to reduce my intake. because there will be withdrawals when I start.

I really like the idea of diluting the Dew. Orangeaid sounds good.

And grats Pascal. Your doing great man. [darth vadar voice]: the will is strong with this one.

Day 14: My scale intends to kill me. I report what I see, but once again will not be discouraged by a small red line on a wobbly scale. It claimed last night that I was 280 pounds. 14 days for one pound would seem like an epic failure. All the same, I will push forward and use this as a key meaning that I need to try to watch myself more carefully in the future and judge my actions with greater concern. Stares evilly at scale "I SHALL RETURN! You know... to lower weights"

Day 16: Ok, doing better 278 last night. Come on, turn this thing around, we WILL lose this weight. (struggles with people who show him cookies and other tasty things that are bad for him).

Day 17: 270, 8 pound loss. I don't buy it. But it certainly does make one feel good. There is a low just west of Flag, so it isn't surprising that my weight is down, but maybe I did lose some weight as well. I'll hold out for a bit of hope.
