Turkey, Mexico, and more

Postby Anystazya » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:05 pm

Mm'kay, so, Turkey. My big brother and dad are going there one week from now (March 8, which also happens to be my brother's b-day). They're going for General Assembly 2010, which is a gathering for the C&MA (Christian & Missionary Alliance) denomination in Canada held every two years. This year, they decided to hold it in Turkey, rather than one of the large Canadian cities. There's no way my whole family could afford to go, so originally, only my dad was going to go. I also really wanted to go, but my mom made it clear that it wouldn't be possible...So now my brother, who is older and has a job, is going. I love him a lot. But I just don't know about where he is with God right now. I don't think he's completely ignored Christianity, but I don't know how much he believes, either. My sister even said that she would be more sad if he were to die than if I were to, right now, because she knows I'm stable in my faith and know what I believe (whereas with him, things are completely different). My brother doesn't have any Christian friends his age, while I am blessed to have many. He's graduating this year, off to university in the fall. So...before sending him off, my parents want to give him this opportunity in Turkey, with my dad. In addition, they're going to Poland on missions for two weeks after the one week assembly. Please, pray for my brother, and that he'll come back renewed in his faith and with a passion for Christ. Also for my dad, that he will be able to bond with my brother, and that the trip will mature him, as well.

Mexico. My Sunday school teacher just informed us that it is possible to take us to Mexico in roughly two years on missions. Which is just the thing we've been hoping and praying for. We just need the two years to raise money, especially with such a small group of youth. This is like, the chance I've been waiting for since learning that I wouldn't be able to go to Turkey/Poland...even before that. Prayer that we'd be able to raise all the money we need, and that everything would be taken well care of for this trip, would be very much appreciated.

Those were the two main prayer requests I had. But I'm going to take the chance to request more...

I'll start with the easy obvious one. Basketball tourney tomorrow! We're hosting it, my mom is coaching, and...I'm nervous ^__^; I know it'll be fun, but the whole team needs to remember to be calm and give it our best tomorrow. (We won last year! \o.o/)

And another...hm. A couple of you sort of know the details, but basically there's a girl who clashes with my personality a bit...and...yeah...Sometimes I feel like she just doesn't like me; my friends have thought so too. Wondered why she doesn't like me...when she acts like she does...anyways. That's not important. Things are okay right now, but she needs prayer. She does say she's a Christian, but it doesn't reflect on the way she lives, and even though it's getting a LOT better, she still needs to fully understand God for who He is.

Aaand, one more...basically, I just need a little reassurance, so prayer just...for me, would be much appreciated. There was something that happened, something I watched/listened to, and it kinda creeped me out a little. It's the sort of thing that I thought I would be fine with, since I'm a Christian and I know God is bigger than that, but the thing is, since I'm a Christian, I know that it's really real, and...well, I couldn't go to bed with the lights off. It's better now, but when I think about it...yeah. It's kind of hard to explain everything, but...if you remember, please pray for me ^__^

Oh oh! I forgot! My sister needs money. She's going to North Africa, and needs funding and a lot of prayer! Please pray that God will take care of everything, and she'll be able to reach out to a lot of people! =)

Lord have mercy!
Job 7:16

I loathe my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone, for my days are but a breath.

Thank you, everyone! =)

And we won our tournament. I got the ball in the face and had a bleeding nose within the first minute or so of the first game, but it was still a very fun day =) Now another tournament in one week...
