Ok this is going to sound really silly but I find Pikmin really hard...mostly because I can't seem to get a piece every day. also I get really nervous when they die they are too cute!
Also FF10 I'm still playing it. I'm fighting Yunalasca.

Most old school games are really stressful and take memorization to win. One game that drives me crazy to this day, is Spider-man and X-Men : Arcade's Revenge. My brother a I combined our money to buy that $70 dollar game. Was it worth it? No! That game made me cry in frustration! :waah!: We even tried using GameGenie (the last resort) and that did not help us! :comp:

I'd say Demon Souls is a very tough game.

Echoing some sentiments and adding a few of my own:

-The ORIGINAL Ninja Gaiden series (NES and SNES). I've barely played the newer games, but I know how insane the first ones were.

-Ghost and Goblins. Any of them. Of course, I attribute must of the difficult to those horrid jumping mechanics (I love you, Capcom, but seriously? Even the PSP version has it?)

-Battletoads. I'm not saying anything.

-Godhand. Completely underrated but fantastic game. Insanely hard, as well. Even with numerous upgrades and setting together all those "perfect" little combination attacks before facing a stage, I've managed, on some stages, to die in about ten seconds. With full life.

-Ikaruga. Another fantastic game, but just... AGGGGH.

-Megaman. I find some of the comments about this one kind of funny. Thanks to a wonderful Christmas, I now own all of the original six Megaman NES cartridges (except Megman 3 :C ).
Yes, these games are insanely hard, but after beating each one a couple of times, I've come to notice (for me, anyways) that they seem to get progressively easier. Especially 6; that game seems to just hand out Energy Tanks after awhile (I've repeatedly gotten to the final boss with between 7 to 9 tanks).

Of course, when it comes to Megaman, I think I'm just kind of a freak, so my opinion may not totally count. o-O

And Megaman 9 is still insanely hard.

Oh, and the Battle Network games. Even with the right chips those games can still be [an entirely different kind of] crazy hard.

------------------------------

EDIT:

Oh, and something that tends to bother me (which I might get flamed for): I'm not always sure what to really say about difficulty in many RPGs. Many of the newer ones, granted, do tend to give you better ways of formulating strategies inside of combat, but so many of the older RPGs I don't see so much as "hard" as I do "you just haven't leveled and equipped yourself enough."

It's one of those times where there starts to be a weird line between using a lot of "skill/strategy" compared to just having enough time to finish grinding (and I say this being one of those people that used to grind quite a bit :[ ).

Touhou Project - Imperishable Night.

Without a doubt one of the harder touhou games.
Of two evils, choose neither - Charles Spurgeon.

I haven't played many games, but the current ones that get me stuck are the Metroid Prime ones. Sad, huh? Mostly because, on the hardest setting in Corruption when you have to lower the shield on the Pirate Homeworld the keep killing me. Sad...

Surprisingly I find games like FF and Fire emblem easy! Metroid Prime 3: Corruption that's a hard one. WAY harder than Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. If I were too pick another two definitly Super Mario 3 I got to world 7 and can't get past it and Metriod Prime: Hunters the controls are too wierd and jerky.

Yeah, Echoes was pretty easy. I'm stuck on Prime 1 because I don't know where to go next...Amazing how turning off the hints system will cause one to become stuck.
I once saw a couple of little kids playing Hunters without using the touch screen. I think they didn't know how to even play.

Nate (post: 1278928) wrote:Same...I didn't find FFX hard in the least. It was actually a cakewalk, except the bonus dungeon (I would die quite often there), but again, bonus content shouldn't really be included in difficulty assessments.

The only storyline boss I remember everyone saying they have problems with is Yunalesca but...I beat her my first try.

She was fairly easy actually, but Jecht was the real Mother Hardness for me...Seymour at Mt. Gagazet, a close second.
