If they did some how got Missouri to come to the Big 10. Then I say the Big 12 should try to get Ark or get TCU.

For the PAC 10, its a no brainier. Go get Utah and BSU.

TCU would be a nice addition. They've improved significantly from the old SWC days, and in the very old days, they had a nice rivalry with Texas A&M (the "Gig 'em" that TAMU fans use as a cheer was originally a reference to gigging the "Frogs", as in the TCU Horned Frogs.)

I have a feeling Ark will stick where they are, though. They're in a really spot now.

They are in a good spot, but try telling them that. Views from Ark as of late is, they feel they are not going any where in the SEC and really wants to play with more Big 12 teams that they use to play in the SWC.

Also, the SEC has been kind of thinking of trying to get an ACC team, if Ark was to leave. I don't know if GT would want to go back to the SEC, but the SEC would love to have them back and bring back some good old days in the SEC with GT and other SEC teams.

For real? It seems like only yesterday that they were whining about being handicapped by having to playing all those SWC teams. :eyeroll:

The SEC is one of those conferences that will always be near the top. The Big 8/12/whatever-number-is-appropriate-at-the-time is another, but this would still be a lateral move for Arkansas at best (I wonder which one has had more national championships over all? I bet it's close. My first guess would be SEC, actually, and I'm a Big 12 guy.)

Big 12 have 16 National Titles and the SEC has 16 titles as well.

Does anyone here understand the Leach firing?

To me the incident seems like grounds for, "Hey, coach, do you really think this is the best punishment for X?" Where X is the player's actions. The whole situation seems very weird and it's always possible there's more than meets the eye.

So is it PC ways gone amok or does everyone think this was a serious offense?

In this case, it wasn't punishment that the coach was giving out. But put them in place after Adam James was mistreated by Leach after suffering a concussion.

Yes a concussion can be serious thing, but from what I read and there is a video of the said rooms that James was put in and it was nothing what the James family said it was.

I will try to post the video later, when I can. This came down to a coach said, vs player said.

From my take, Adam James has been a lazy jerk that felt that he should have got more playing time. I think he ran to this daddy for help in trying to get it or James look at this to get back at Leach for not letting him play. Since his dad works for ESPN, it was a clear way to go after the coach and use his dad and the company that he works for to go after Leach.

I really don't think this was a PC thing, but more like crap hit the fan kind of deal.

It may be that Myers may feel that paying Leach $20-30 million down the road if they lost a lawsuit in court is better than possibly having to pay the James family $100-200 million in a lawsuit over what may or may not have happened and possibly losing $200-500 million in endowments and the like from people who either are anti-sports or who think sports are overblown, even if it means losing SOME booster money over this.

I think that if this happen to a player that his dad didn't work for a sport news company, it would have went away. I think that the James family would have use ESPN as gain to throw whatever they could to make the coach look bad.

I thought the same way about the situation, but I wasn't sure. Maybe more details will emerge later.

That Northwestern game was very emotionally draining. How many times can a team be given the game and still lose?

I don't see how this helps Leach's arguments at all. It is really weird way to treat a guy who has been sidelined for a concussion. Whether the shed was a shed or a garage, or the room was a closet or a media room, why was a guy on the DL being stuck in one over an hour and forced to stand in the other for three hours?

And now, let us all take a moment to join Roy in stoning Lane Kiffin for screwing over an entire fanbase...

You know, a little of me is tick off that he screw over the fanbase. but at the same time, I really don't care and glad that he's going.

Watching the last few games of the season, I started to have my not so good feelings about Kiffin or his dad. Va Tech railroaded Tenn in the bowl game. Also the players that got in trouble this season, where players that Kiffin pick up. I hate to see Ed Orgeron leave as he is a good recruiting coordinator.

Kiffin did have a big mouth and that is one thing that bug me and I really didn't like what he did after the bowl game and wouldn't shake hands with the Va Tech.

As for his dad, I'm glad that he going with him. Monte Kiffin is a good NFL defensive coordinator, but I don't know about one in college. He sure didn't have any answers in the Va Tech game and the defense had problems with the wildcat formation and a some of the spread formations that colleges run, but you don't see in the NFL.

The thing that I more sick over is that the fact that Al Davis was right about him and I don't like Al Davis.

Kiffin's decision a blessing for Vols

Right now, I feel bad for USC fans. They are not even happy with the hire!

Good news is, we may have a coach by tomorrow and it maybe someone from the big state of Texas. ]Col. Roy Mustang[/color]
