Neither.

Get God of War Collection. Or save your money for God of War III which comes out in three months I think.

Of course if you HAVE to pick one of those two (though I don't see why) I'd say Assassin's Creed.

The COD titles never had much replay value for me, so they're kind of a disappointment when I'm done.

If you are looking for a hack-and-slash kind of game, then I'd say pick up assassin's creed 1, if you can, and when you finish that move on to 2.

Also, If you like pixar movies, I'd really recommend getting Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, then getting Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Both of those are incredible titles, have decent replay value, and were a great deal of fun to play. I LOL'd many times.

I never liked Assassins Creed much... COD all the way. Sure the actual game doesn't have much replay value but neither does Assassins Creed or God of War... Modern Warfare 2 has plenty extra to do with the Special Ops levels and then if you play online, like I do, then you won't get bored at all. Though as far as the actual game goes, I prefer World at War, putting it on Veteran, and getting a friend to play along. THAT is fun. If Modern Warfare 2 had a 2-player campaign option, I probably would have enjoyed it more. But I love the Special Ops levels (you can play with someone) and the online play.

All though, if you just wanna play online with people, I actually liked WarHawks better. My favorite shoot 'em up online war type game.

Another awesome game for PS3 is Uncharted 2. But that has like zero replay value too so... if that's what you want, pass..

Out of Assassins Creed or COD, COD. And I did not like the God of War games... The only reason I bothered playing them was cause I'm a Greek Myth nut!!! And while they obviously butchered Greek mythology in the game, it was still heavily inspired with great graphics and I liked seeing all the creatures they used. But I hated the actual gameplay. I do not like single player slash and hack games. But that's just a personal thing and I know a lot of people like it.

That's true, and I forgot to ask that. Are you looking for a good, solid game experience that doesn't have much replay value? Are you into online stuff?

If you're into online stuff, then Modern Warfare is absolutely the winner hands-down. God of War and Assassin's Creed are phenomenal games, and you'll absolutely have a blast with them but if you're looking for something a bit more lasting then Modern Warfare is it because it has online multiplayer. The other games don't have that.

"Butcher" is a bit of an overstatement. The only three glaring changes to Greek mythology I noticed were the Pandora's Box thing, and Cronus being forced to carry the temple (obviously he was imprisoned with the rest of the titans in the original myths). There's also Atlas being forced to hold up the world by Kratos many years after the Great War, instead of Zeus forcing him immediately at the end, too. Other than that I can't think of any really big changes.

Mm yeah... "butchered" was a bit strong... the characters and creatures and their personalities and such are pretty accurate. But story wise, it's more like mythological fan fiction with many liberties taken. It's not a bad thing though. It's pretty much expected when adapting Greek myths to anything... and they did a good job with it. Just not my type of game.

I recommend both Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2. Can't go wrong with those 2.
