(If you don't have some clear goal in mind) (An interesting note, I learned recently on that topic though is that freelance writers will put together a fancy one for you for a fee). The bad news about an undergraduate education is that it gives you all the knowledge you could use in the world about a variety of subjects, but doesn't necessarily reveal to you where you're going in life... nor does it give you time to find that on your own... (I'm starting to worry they don't WANT us to think about that question and just become cogs... in which case we should be thinking about it more then anything else) O_o.
1 That is one reason why econ is easier than public policy, but I want to develop small businesses overseas and teach sustainable business practices. This along with my graduate research will serve as the basis of my first book comparing government policies affecting sustainable business development in the "developed" and 3rd worlds and what we can learn from each other. I also hope to work as a professor either at a community college where I can contribute a lot to campus or at a large university where I can do research.
*This plan is mitigated by the fact that I took too long to apply for the Peace Corp and would be out of school nearly 6 months by the time I would get an assignment. I also need to look into Birthright Armenia, the other similar program, and getting a passport. The Advocacy Project is available only to grad students and you have to fundraise for your expenses-this is not business, but does do work in Russia and offers intercultural experience that would be awesome and is useful for the other option.
2. Alternatively, I hope to use my experience, by then somewhat gained, along with my research gained in part as a public policy/administration grad student to create positive changes in gov. policy to sustainable business practices and other areas of interests, don't know what else, and still be a professor and write some related sort of book. This is a slightly unformulated plan.
**And how exactly does understanding how to do a ledger entry or payroll cycle help this? What relevance is an options strangle or calculating margin on a put option to this sort of work (I got a 60% on the test in this class, lowest since calculus)?
3. Well, I doubt there is much demand for someone who wants to study monotheistic anthropology and non-protestant ecclesiology. Also not sure if I am up for law school.
E. I hope to write comedy one day, probably on the side, maybe a satire book or play.
And I suspect they want us to be cogs.
