I wanted to see what you would give the follow shows that you have seen on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best and 1 worst. The list is pretty large and it is for my personal anime database website. So how would you rate these anime shows?

I don't watch much anime, but lemme try to help you out with a few ratings. Keep in mind that I haven't watched all the way through any of these (except FLCL):

Big O - 9/10 (It's an intense psycho-drama, with giant robots tacked on. Not that I'm complaining, but others might not like it because of how out-of-place it can feel.)
Eyeshield 21 - 7.5/10 (Like football? You'll like this. Otherwise...)
FLCL - 8.5/10 (It's incomprehensible, but fun to watch.)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - 6/10 (The story's great, but it's just a rehash of the manga, which told it better. Also, while I understand they have to take them due to schedule constraints, the shortcuts in animation really bother me.)
Trigun - 8.5/10 (The Old West is alays kind of a favorite thing of mine. Too bad about the English dub, though; it's not that great.)

Also, some of the series you(the OP) named are still on going, would it be okay to rate those too? Because a opinion of an anime can change with one or two episodes(for me, at least).

Pandora Hearts anime was going to get an 8 from me until the very last three episodes when Xebec decided "hay we're gonna maek our own ending lolololo!1!" Now I can't even rate it because I dropped it. :|

There aren't a lot of low scores because when it's clear that a show stinks, I stop watching it. I don't rate a show unless I've seen at least a third of it (except for Gintama, which I abandoned after about 18 episodes).

I used to think this too but I realized that keeping a score of shows you're going through is useful if you ever want to compare what you think of the show at that point to other things that you've already seen.

In the same way, dropped shows are also useful to indicate your opinion of the show at the point that you dropped it at. For instance, I've dropped shows because I hated them, but I've also dropped shows that were good, but I decided to follow them in another medium instead (like Cross Game, which is awesome).

Of course, I don't rate stuff that I'm going through super early on unless I drop it, but I tend to start doing so about a month into a show (about four or five episodes). By then, you should have enough information to form a solid enough opinion of the show.

And if things change, well, you can always change your score.

Dragon Ball - 2 (I couldn't stand the fanservice and crude humor... I stopped watching after 4 and 3/4 episodes)

Fullmetal Alchemist - 9 (almost halfway through)
Inuyasha - 7 (only watched 6 episodes since it didn't interest me as much)
Kanon 2006 - I gave the original an 8 but I haven't seen 2006 so I can't help you there. Sorry.

Vampire Knight 6/10 (Just finshed watch it. I hated the ending but I still like the show)
Inuyasha 8/10 (I'm almost finshed watching this one, and it's my new fav)
Naruto 4/10 (I only realy liked the show when they were in Ninja Traning)
Fullmetal Alchemist 9/10 (I love this show so much)
Fruit Basket 7/10 (This show was so funny, and had a love trangle between Kyo, Tohru and Yuki)
The Twelve Kingdoms 8/10 (I have seen as much as I can find on youtube and I love it. Still wanting to see more)
Shinzo 7/10 (I also love this show but the ending was just ok)
Peach Girl 6/10 (It was a cool drama show but not somthing I would watch again)
Trinity Blood 5/10 (I only seen the parts with Ion and Ester)
Moon Phase 4/10 (I liked the show half way then started to lose intrest)
Soty Rei 5/10 (It got boring at times but the ending, I thought, made up for that.)

Let me preface these rating with a note. Most of them are rather high, but the reason for that is because I don't have tons of time to watch anime, so I pick and choose very carefully. I've picked well (for my tastes, that is ), so most are 8-9, with a few tens.


Barefoot Gen 8.5/10 -- A great WWII movie, nearly as amazing as GotF.
Castle in the Sky 9/10 -- Miyazaki, so it's obviously excellent.
Death Note 8/10 -- Quite enjoyable, although the second half starts to falter.
Ergo Proxy 9.5/10 -- Amazing series, one of my favorites
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood 9/10 --Obviously, it's still airing, but it's quite good, and definitely easier to sit down and watch, due to the way it mixes seriousness with humor.
Ghost In The Shell (Movie) 9.5/10 -- Very awesome, cyberpunk-ness.
Grave of the Fireflies 11/10 -- Probably the best film I've ever seen, one of the few movies that makes me cry.
Gunslinger Girl 10/10 -- The first season is definitely a masterpiece, IMHO. The 2nd season, however, I pretend ever happened. I've gotten halfway through, and it's deviated far too much from the way of the original, now it's too much about action and plot.
Howl's Moving Castle 9/10 -- Miyazaki again, and also one of my favorites from him.
Kikis Delivery Service 8/10 -- Enjoyable, but not as good as the rest.
Le Chevalier D'Eon 9.5/10 -- Awesome show, I love the way actual history is tied in.
Millennium Actress 9/10 -- Amazing movie, I definitely need to add this to my collection.
Memories 8/10 -- A great three movie pack, Magnetic Rose being my favorite of the three.
Metropolis 8.5/10 -- Although the art style isn't my favorite, awesome steampunk film.
My Neighbor Totoro 9/10 -- Another awesome Miyazaki movie, my little sisters loved it.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 10/10 -- One of Miyazaki's masterpieces, although the manga is even more incredible.
Noir 10/10 -- What can I say, my first anime series, and I'll love it forever.
Princess Mononoke 10/10 Another masterpiece.
Scrapped Princess 7/10 About 2/3, but it's good. Not my favorite, but good.
Serial Experiments Lain 10/10 Amazing show, very trippy.
Spirited Away 9.5/10 Near masterpiece level, and very gorgeous.
Voices of a Distant Star 8/10 A good film from a great director, although the art style isn't my favorite.
Witch Hunter Robin 10/10 In a three way tie for my favorite series, and also the first series I purchased.

Akira - 3/10 (animation was pretty good, but the story, content, and dub [the Japanese track didn't work on the library copy] were pretty lousy)
Castle in the Sky - 8.5/10 (a true Miyazaki masterpiece; the pirates were a little stupid, but the story and animation were amazingly enjoyable)
Death Note - 8/10 (amazing all the way up to episode 25 - great characters, thrilling and captivating story - but after that it petered off quite drastically; I like the movies better)
The Vision of Escaflowne - 6/10 (fairly exciting and gripping, but the romantic entanglements threw me off, and the ending totally lost me)
Fullmetal Alchemist - 7/10 (my favorite series - incredible animation, voice acting, story, heart, characters, music, everything - but the ending was the most disappointing and depressing thing I think I've ever seen)
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - 8/10 (lately the episodes have been near-perfect renditions of the amazing manga, but earlier on the pacing was horrible, and the animation in the first episode was a little quonky)
Gankutsuou - 8/10 (unique adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo story, and I actually liked the ending better, but there were some changes that weren't for the better)
Haibane Renmei - 10/10 (highly satisfactory, beautiful animation and music, the best ending I've ever seen)
Howl's Moving Castle - 10/10 (best Miyazaki movie, in my opinion)
Kiki's Delivery Service - 7/10 (no problems with it, necessarily, but the story didn't grip me as much as usual)
Last Exile - 6/10 (fairly good, but there were some extremely disappointing things with the characters)
My Neighbor Totoro - 9/10 (classic Miyazaki, very sweet and childish, though it moves a little slowly for some people, maybe)
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind - 4/10 (rather disappointing; it struck me as an older version of Princess Mononoke)
Porco Rosso - 5/10 (kind of weird, but it ends up having all the things that make Miyazaki movies so good; not my favorite, but definitely worth watching)
Princess Mononoke - 5/10 (really good animation and everything, but the story didn't really interest me very much)
Ruruoni Kenshin - 6/10 (enjoyable, humorous, but rather episodic; I stopped after the second season or so)
Samurai Champloo - 5/10 (really good animation and exciting fight scenes, but a lot of bad content)
Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal - 9/10 (artistic, beautiful, and fills in the holes quite satisfactorily)
Scrapped Princess - 3/10 (not too bad, but not too good either)
Spirited Away - 10/10 (a pure work of art; I don't think I have any complaints with this one)
Steamboy - 4/10 (really good animation and dubbing, but the story wasn't particularly gripping)
Trigun - 9/10 (incredibly funny and exciting, though the ending was rather rushed)
Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - 5/10 (great character interaction, but it's rather episodic and the characters stare into space too much; I've also only seen the first season)
Wolf's Rain - 8/10 (wonderful characters, great voice acting, engaging storyline...the ending was a little disappointing)
