Know where to find sheet music?

Postby RandomBurrito » Mon Aug 17, 2009 8:49 pm

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find sheet music for a song from Beyond the Clouds the promised place, the violin part that Sayuri plays. I've been wanting to learn it on the violin but I'm not really sure where to find it.

Anyone is free to ask other questions about finding sheet music. I can help with some Christian songs that I know.

Unfortunately, it's an original, written for the movie. The sheet probably isn't available anywhere. I picked it out on my violin once, but didn't write it down. I would have to go back and watch the movie again because I don't remember it anymore.

Found it at Josh's anime sheet music site. It has a lot of transcriptions and is still regularly updated. Sayuri's melody is found under "Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho (Beyond the Clouds, The Promised Place) (雲のむこう、約束の場所)" as "Sayuri's melody".

That's it! This is a cool site, BTW.

Note to younger violinists: This goes up to fifth position. If that's too high for you, it can be dropped an octave, because it only goes down to G on the staff.

Thanks blkmage! That is a pretty cool site, thanks for sharing!

I'm a beginner violinist but after reading it I think I could play it. I'm going to practice what I can on the piano too.

If you haven't learned fifth yet, the trick is to memorize where the side of your hand touches the violin's shoulder, then aim for that spot every time you shift.
