I'm sorry this got added here a little late, but the staff have been talking internally about this thread. While the official policy of the site has no opinion one way or the other about tattoos, we do request that pictures be tasteful, and a couple of the pictures are being reviewed for that reason.

If people want to post future pictures to this thread, please make sure that they are not whole-body shots, or include portions of the body that violate the bikini/swim trunks rule.

Ah... that distasteful thing was probably my doing. The ones that are being reviewed are prob fault... I like, blacked out parts (even though they WERE covered up, I just did it to be more careful... and in mine I'm wearing a bikini top)... sorry =\

And yes.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE watership down. I like the book a lot more than the movie, but the movie is fantastic... definitely can't believe I was allowed to watch it as a kid, it's pretty violent.

I was thinking just Hazel or Clover on the top of my foot looking up with it's ears going up my ankle.

Awe, why can't you get yours till september?
I can't get mine till later than that anyway- I'm SO broke, so I'm trying to convince someone to get me an early xmas gift ;p

When I get my first tattoo, it'll be one of four words:
です [desu]
活 [katsu]
自爆 [jibaku]
きっと大丈夫 [kitto daijoubu]

If I get きっと大丈夫 done, it'll be on my collar bones [きっと on one side and 大丈夫 on the other] in rainbow colors. 活 would be done on the inside of my right wrist in dark red and 自爆 would be on the back of my left hand in purple. I'm not sure where desu will go or what color it'll be, but it'll be rad.

Yep. I know what all the words I posted mean :D And jibaku is one of my favorite words of any language.

@chibi: Desu is awesome. Now that I think about it, I'll probably get it on my left shoulder blade and it'll be light blue.

Jibaku means "suicide bombing" xD

and desu just means "is/to be". it has no significant meaning.

TATTOOED IDOLS TIME?

Of COURSE, Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence, my soon to be husband ^_^;; (please... PLEASE!) , but this isn't terribly recent because it's BEFORE he got his knucks blacked out.

And, let us not forget Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon

and Tim Lambesis from As I Lay Dying. Mind you, the picture quality ain't great, but the tattoo's are very very nice!

OMG SAVVY YOUR FRIENDS SHOES =O
Iz he hobo? =P Neat tho.

I forgot about Jeph Howard- he probably has the COOLEST tattoo's I've ever seen. Like, he bought his roommate a tattoo machine, and his roommate promised he's give him free tattoos for the rest of his life. And get this- his friend made it BIG, fab artist, and Jeph is a mega rich super musician, so he gets awesome free tattoos.
I couldn't find any good pics, but he has a bat neck piece, and a unicorn leg piece XD. It's soooo cool.

Not that I would ever get one myself, but here's a fairly unique collection of tattoos:

The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I think that in the near future, visible tattoos and piercing won't be nearly as taboo as they are now.
I mean, even at the Superstore in town, the kids working there are allowed to have visible facial piercings, stretched ears, etc... at work, whereas I remember, even a couple years ago, they had to either be covered up, or a clear stud had to be worn.

The times they are a' changing.

On that note, I have ONE friend who DOESN'T have a tattoo. I have 5 close high school friends, all of which just graduated two MONTHS ago who have at LEAST half sleeves (one friend has her entire BACK done), and the rest of my friends have smaller tattoos somewhere at least.

I think it's getting to be weirder to NOT have them then to have them. I can only think of a few people I know that DON'T have any- and 2 of those people are my parents =P haha.

Not that much. There's a big difference between bagging groceries and working in the professions.

My psychology prof has his forearm totally decked out.

That and SEVERAL teachers from my high school had very clear visible tattoos.

You hope too much. Nurses with nose piercings have to wear a band aid over it to hide it.

I have met strong resistance regarding tattoos from some people whose opinions I value. They still consider them a sign of rebellion and difficulty, ie, a troublemaker no one would employ.

If you think things will change via positive attitudes of the youth, I will point out that the hippie generation is now the one in charge and being judgmental. :)

Not here. I worked at a hospital for a year, and about 90% of the nurses had piercings, not even kidding. They were usually just studs, but you could see them clearly. I knew some doctors that had tattoos too.

But then, you see some pretty weird stuff here. It seems like eeeeveryone has a tattoo or piercing here... It might just be the area, though.

hahaha um kinda, actually! He literally sold everything he had and went out to live on the streets. He's big into homeless ministry and just loving people. he's a huge inspiration and I aspire to be more like him. well, technically, more like Jesus. but you get what I'm saying. XD

yah, while i work at a grocery store, we are all still allowed piercings and stretched ears and tattoos. :P

and this guy who comes in who is a money truck driver? dunbar driver? whatever they are called... he has 1" plugs and a giant tribal tattoo on his arm. XD

And I know of a bunch of lawyers and other high end profession people with tattoos and such. :P

I don't care as much about piercings and tattoos, cause I know i'm going into the art business. its pretty common there. lol
