Nate (post: 1338285) wrote:Yeah but the problem with getting them on the PC is you have to use Steam. -.- *is anti-DRM*
Besides, Valve never updating their games on consoles can sometimes be a positive thing (has heard many TF2 players on the PS3/360 express gratitude on the lack of the new weapons on those versions).
Mr. SmartyPants wrote:Sure it's technically DRM, but it's in no way inhibiting like some other companies
For what it's worth, Valve actually listens to players and tries to balance things out.
DRM isn't all evil. It's just stuff like Securom that's annoying. /opinion.
Nate (post: 1338436) wrote:The biggest complaint I've heard is about how Valve used to be all about never taking away control from the player (evident in stuff like Bioshock) and then they introduced the stun stuff into TF2, which made at least a fair bit of people upset. From what I hear the Sandman and stuff is apparently not in the 360/PS3 versions? Meaning people are happier that they don't have to deal with it there.
Nate (post: 1338436) wrote:I don't like that line of thinking, to me it's in line with stuff like, "Yeah, the government is illegally monitoring your phone conversations and personal emails, but if you're not doing anything wrong it's not a problem anyway!"
