Most useless Super Smash Bros. Character

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

I play well with most all characters... Except Ganondorf. What use is extra strength if you're too slow to land a hit? And to avoid this degenerating into "No characters are useless" over and over, how about which characters are useless to YOU?

There are, however, useless people who try to proscribe the use of certain levels and characters. Apparently somebody didn't tell these wet blankets that Smash Brothers is not Street Fighter.

Frickin' THIS. Last I heard, games were supposed to be played, not worked like a job. Maybe that's why I never got any of the MMORPGs I played . . .

Am I the only one to notice that this thread has been dead for a year?

Nope. I noticed as well when it popped up in my updated subscribed threads again.

Nothing wrong with people enjoying breaking down the dynamics of a game, studying it, then applying it at a more serious level...

Nothing necessarily morally wrong with it, but priorities much? If they just applied that dedication to something worthwhile, the results could be staggering. I don't understand why people make some of these decisions. I can't understand why people choose to put the same effort and time as a normal job takes into something with no tangible benefits. Why won't they, for example, break down the dynamics of a new language, art, music, business, economies, social interaction, or an illness' interaction with the human body, study that, and apply it at a serious level instead of leveling up their level 69 gnome death knight?

Because a gnome death knight is a terrible build after its buffing spells got nerfed in the new expansion. It just doesn't have the DPS to compete with a hippopotamus dragoon.

Real reason for posting: I would like to encourage everyone to consider how much it is worth bumping a thread this old.

Instead of arguing about tiers, lets do something constructive like argue about people who argue about tiers.

All better now.

Wario. Can't figure out how to use him. I always lose with him no matter how hard I try.

Simple answer: Because it's fun.

Also: Most people I know who do this don't put in "the same effort and time as a normal job". The internet makes it stunningly easy to gain vast amounts of knowledge about a game in a relatively short amount of time. Either that, or I read really really fast.

I always take a bit of umbrage with people who criticize, say, those who enjoy analyzing game mechanics - "it's not beneficial to society", they say. "It's a waste of time". Well yes, maybe we're (saying 'we' because both Smash and Ragnarok Online have consumed large portions of my free time) not contributing to the cure to cancer or the solution to the Voynich manuscript, we are deriving enjoyment from an acitivty that others might deem frivolous. Some people like hiking. Some people like reading up on politics. Some people like figuring out stat builds for katar weilding assassins in Ragnarok Online. While outwardly it might seem more frivolous than hiking or drawing, you're exercising a logical part of your brain that weighs choices vs. the outcomes of choices, deals with numbers, and uses reason. And it's fun. It's a way to pass the time. And in moderation, I don't see anything wrong or harmful about enjoying something like that. And in this case, labelling someone's hobbies as "worthwhile" or "not worthwhile" seems silly to me -- from what standard are we judging?

And just because someone uses their time crunching numbers and figuring out game mechanics doesn't mean that they don't also engage in activities that are more "beneficial" anyway. :B

....and why WAS this grave-dug so badly anyway?

For me to spam rollout to get cheap victories over my friend lol. That's about all I can manage with that character anymore.

Real Reason For Posting: Love the sig, squirrel. lol. (Anyone wanna bet on how long it'll be before we see this all across the board?)

Of course it scrolls! The space in which a signature is confined can not contain the immeasurable awesomeness that flows from the being known only as UC Pseudonym.

And that's Lesson 2!!
