Movies you can't WAIT to see

Postby Ashley » Sun Apr 18, 2004 6:02 pm

Just coming off a great string of previews, I thought this would be a fun thread. Here's my "must see" list of spring/summer 04:

Troy
The Alamo
The Punisher
King Arthur
Ella Enchanted
Shrek 2
Spiderman 2
perhaps Van Hellsing

Troy! Troy! (provided my parents will let me see it... but they did promise me - before it got rated! ^^)

I don't know about Ella Enchanted. I loved the book, but the movie looks like they changed a lot. I'll let my guinea pig- I mean my friend, see it first...

Others:

Shrek 2
King Arthur
13 Going on 30
Spiderman 2. Although I'm not usually a fan of sequels.

I think my list is mostly the same as yours...

Hmmm..... so far for me... random future dates....

Spiderman 2, the new trailer was really spiffy.
Troy, that's a lot of boats!
The Punisher, interesting and dark....
Shrek 2, the first one rocked like Finding Nemo! Probally won't seen it in threaters.
Alien vs. Predetor, just for the heck of it
Episode III, this ones a love/hate.... anybody remember my "what would make you walk out of E III" thread?
King Kong, just to see what happens with Jack Black
And maybe that Metroid Prime Movie... I heard about

That's all I can think of.....

There's a Yu-Gi-Oh! movie coming out this summer. I'm not really that big a fan of the anime anymore, but it could be interesting.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (watching Philosopher's Stone now, so it makes sense) I wonder how it will be different with the new director... It allready seems like they changed the pallete. I must admit, I'm getting a bit bothered by how spoiled Harry is by the school. Because of his history, he gets away with a lot more than others would. That makes the thing between him and Malfoy lose a bit of it's oomph... It's a nice spoiled kid vs a mean spoiled kid... One spoiled because of reputation, one because of money.

Metroid (not metroid prime) I wonder if this will be any good, but I'll see it regardless... Just because it's metroid.

Metal Gear (hope it's not solid, would love to have just a metal gear movie... Like to see snake's first big Fox Hound operation and the original betrayal) David Hayter at least has a history of well-loved movies in his belt. He adapted comic-type stories to sucessful movies before (X-men) as well as one that bombed (Hulk) so the Jury is out until I see it. As Meatloaf would say, though, "Two out of three ain't bad" Hopefully we can say "3 out of four is pretty good"

Despite my feelings about EoE, I am really interested in seeing the live action Evangelion movie... I just want to see how they handle it...

I would love to see punisher, but I don't know if I'll get to it before it leaves theatres...

I'm waiting for the Silent Hill movie, though I'm not thrilled it's going to be french... I've seen about 12 french movies, and 1 good one, so so far the ratio's not that good... I guess the ratio would be higher if I cound Léon, but it wasn't really a french movie, just a french director.

Ooh, almost forgot: Advent Children. Yup.

There aren't too many movies I want to see right now.

I am excited about Spider-Man 2. From what I've seen and heard, the movie will be better than the first one, and I liked the first one.

I'm also looking forward to The Incredibles whenever it comes out, since it's from Pixar and thus should be hilarious.

There is also that new Yu-Gi-Oh! movie, but I'm not too sure about it because it looks like it's differing from some of the original background info. The story is supposedly written by Takahashi (the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!), though, so we'll see. My only concern is that the dubbing sometimes makes the dialogue rather cheesy (i.e. several characters yelling "I will defeat you" back and forth several times or "You'll be sent to the Shadow Realm! AHAHAHAHAHA!")...

BTW, for those who wanted to see Ella Enchanted... it was GREAT! Anne Hathaway did a superb job, according to my daughter who read the book.

Movies I look forward to are, in order of importance:

Shrek 2
Van Hellsing
FFVII: Advent Children
Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban
13 Going on 30 (going with chibi_chan, yay)
Riddick
Spiderman 2
Troy
Star Wars 3

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

What!?

Postby Kinkosami » Tue May 11, 2004 1:58 pm

Why hasn't anyone said anything about "The Day After Tomorrow"? I watched the trailer and it looks really cool. The graphics and the story look to be very thought out, and it just looks gosh darn cool! It's set to come out May 28, 2004.

You can watch the trailer here:

http://www.thedayaftertomorrow.com/trailer2/index.html

I think you have to have Quick Time to view it.

What do you guys think about it? Is there some reason why this hasn't been mentioned here?

I also want to see "The Village". It's directed by M. Night Shyamalan (the guy who directed Signs), it also looks very interesting. You guys should check it out.

I am looking forward to seeing Spider-man 2 (Which I have been waiting for for almost two years). I heard about this movie when they were just starting it, and have been waiting ever since.

Well, there's my little rant. You guys should check out those movies, they look really good. :thumb:

Some friends of mine and I talked about ditching our graduation parties and going to see The Day After Tomorrow at like a midnight showing or something, since May 28th is our graduation day. ^^

But all that aside, you're right, it looks to be an awesome movie. Very suspenseful and great graphics.
