Anime and Jesus, can it get any better?

Postby Mangafanatic » Tue Mar 16, 2004 7:34 pm

I'm new to this site, and I gotta tell you I'm side-splittingly happy about it! I've been into anime since I was ten, and, as embarrasing as it is to admit, I have Sailor Moon to thank for my anime/manga love.
I had no idea there was even an organized community of Christian Anime people out there, and it makes me so happy to realize there is! After all, (as I said in my title) what could be better than Jesus and anime all in the same message boards! Wait! I know what would be better! Jesus, anime and-- chocolate! Yes. I gotta go get chocolate. . . ;) Can't wait to get to know everybody.

Oh, coincidentally, I'm a major shoujo girl. I'll take the shonen if it has a liberal dose of romance and magical girls mixed into it, but for the most part I say pretty girls, ribbon and love triangles all the way, baby!!!! (Actually I prefer my anime without the love triangles, but I'll take it when I have to.)

Hajimemashite! (Nice to meet you!)

Hehee - do not worry about the Sailor Moon thing. Sailor Moon is the first anime series I watched on Cartoon Network - I have been happily hooked for five or so years now! It will always be my first. *~_~*

Oh, and welcome to the CAA! I hope your stay here is most pleasant - two great things combining together cannot be wrong! :thumb: Happy postings and have fun!

*taps foot* What's so bad about having Sailor Moon for you first anime? It was mine, too, after all. *giggles* Sailor Moon is crazy cool. I will always love it simply because it was my first.

Anyway, hi! Make sure you post often, so we can get to know you and you can get to know us! And definitely bring the chocolate! Mmmmm chocolate...*sess Spiritsword handing out chocolate* YUMMY! *puppy eyes* Is there some for me?

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,

Was not spoken of the soul."

A pleasure.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Hi and welcome, Mangafan...! ^_^

Spiritsword, I'll pass on the chocolate - watching my weight. ~-^

Sailor Moon was my first anime, too; I always watched it with my daughter. I'm also a big shojo fan. You should fit right in.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Me too! :) I've liked Sailor Moon since I was five.
I wanted to dress up for halloween (which I don't celebrate, but hey, it's fun to dress up! And anyway, it was fine to dress up as an anime character when you were five) My mom couldn't find any red material for the skirt so I ended up being this rainbow princess thingy...
