I really do loathe Twilight so much. I believe that this quote sums it up pretty well: "Every bone in my body is filled with an intense hatred for Twilight. If I ever broke a bone, it would seep out and destroy all things related to Twilight, making me somewhat less hesitant to climb trees."

See, it's statements like this that really pique my curiosity and make me want to read it!

Frankly, I don't see the point in "loathing" a work of fiction that much. Sure, it's fine to dislike something, but there comes a point where it starts to look a bit silly. It's like all of those people who watch several dozen anime episodes of a series they hate and keep posting on blogs/forums about how much it sucks. Fairly pointless, in my mind.

Now, can we please let this thread die?

I'm with minakichan on this. I've read Twilight and the next book and while I definately have a lot of things I don't like about it, I don't really care enough to hate it.

Agreed! To go and loath something is a bit too much and if they do turn it into an anime. You don't have to watch it, no one is pointing a gun to your head.

Twilight is mediocre. That's it. I mean, it's not good. There's nothing good about it at all. But by that same token, there's nothing outlandishly horrible about it, either. It is completely and totally bland.

I think people tend to hate it because it represents the very essence of utter shallowness. There is no substance, but it makes tons of money and has legions of fans, anyway. Plus, nothing unites quite like a common hatred, and it's really, really easy to hate Twilight.

The last book, however, is a different story. Trust me, it really is awful.

That said, an anime version could be better than a lot of anime that gets made...but it would still be pointless and bland.

And GeneD, your post makes me smile.

And really, didn't we already settle this on the first page of the thread? The world already has a bishie vampire anime, we don't need another one; unless it has a better plot to back it up. *shrugs*

You know what guys?

With the movies, the books, the T-shirts and the vampire accessories and the toothbrushes and the lunchboxes and the underwear...

Twilight helps stimulate the economy. That's a lot to say when the malls and movie theaters are like graveyards at midnight nowadays.

I hereby give it my stamp of approval.

Wow. Rabid anime fangirls mixed with rabid twilight fangirls. Hybrid of Doom!

I also heard rabid Twilight fangirls bite also (some dude apparently got bitten by one because he said he didn't like Twilight)? Just when you think the world couldn't get crazier.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm very entertained (well, not in the case of the poor dude who got bitten).

*shudders at the thought of hybrid anime twilight fangirl* I have seen how bad twlight fangirls get and I don't think the term rabid should be applied to them. I have encountered a rabid racoon before in my garage and compared to twlight fangirls it was quite gentle (it only tried to take my hand off) and it also didn't foam at mouth near as much as the fangirls did.;)

Guys, you aren't thinking tactically.

If they adapt Twilight into anime form, we can get them all together in one concentrated area. It takes fewer explosives that way.

I like the way you think too it's great plan assuming they don't eviscerate us all first.Remember they are viscous and some of them are crafty too.

You say that as if there's something wrong with GundamFan's statement.

I think we can all agree that Twilight fans have high viscosity, esp. when blended on puree for 4 minutes.

And some certainly are crafty else how do they make their handmade arts and crafts emo vampire paraphernalia.

Or give us a full, detailed summary of the series.

Oh.

And in an attempt to keep this thread somewhat on topic, I'll say that if a Twilight anime ever happens, anime's popularity will increase (maybe) and so might the economy, as minakichan said. Hooray for saving the economy!

Rushia I'm skeptical this would stimulate the economy more likely we would see fans spending there money on the anime rather than some other luxury item assuming there buying anything like that at all. Well I will say the idea does have one promising thing about since most of the fans are teenagers at least the ones who work for the most part would have there disposable income available to buy something like this.

Oh, no. No no no no. I will never be able to convince anyone anime and manga can be legitimate art ever again.

I've never read Twilight, never will either. I read the authors biography and story behind getting it published before I ever saw an advertisement for the series. The bit about sparkly guys from a conservative Mormon housewife trying to do vampires, and all in her own words, made me wonder how mass marketed fiction could sink so low. The classics people, READ them, don't hit the Cliff Notes and Wikipedia and fake it.

The only bit of Twilight I've seen is a RiffTrax mash up on Youtube. That little bit right there, wherein the cast is introduced by a catty girl while they're in a high school cafeteria, torpedoed any chance of me giving this story any respect. A high school cafeteria were the heroine gossips. Inspired art that.

"Awkward Small Talk: the Motion Picture!"

"Line....line..."

*from the official Rifftrax*

I could actually see Twilight being a decent shoujo anime, provided that it's either condensed into a (significantly) short series or given more plot to pad out the timeframe. As it is, Twilight is mostly repetitive description and mundane conversation without drive.

The fangirls, though, are another story...
