Heh. I was going to recommend some of Skillet's older, more industrial music, but a look through your old radio thread shows that someone already beat me to it.

I have found that I tend to like the more melodic music, as opposed to artists like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

EDIT: I just ran across my first Yendri song. I definitely liked it.
Where an Eidolon, named night, on a black throne reigns upright.

As it so happens, I have reserved a place for Skillet's Alien Youth in my album book as one of eighteen albums to acquire in the relatively near future. So while it could be a while, know that it's on my list.

I think Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' charm is that, as a Post-Punk band that latched on to the thematic and musical strengths of Johnny Cash's music, they can take genres like Folk and Country that are often very conservative or even reactionary, and instead make them forward-looking and experimental. And of course, Nick Cave's solid grasp of the themes and imagery of the Bible and The Odyssey doesn't hurt either. So while Cave's singing is more of a solemn drone than anything with a lot of melodic contour, I think his work is very compelling.

As to Yendri, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it too. Nina's project is one that I definitely hope gains in prominence, as she's getting very good, so I'm glad to give her airplay.

GhostontheNet you seem to know a lot about music and band history (from what you've typed so painfully obvious ^_^). If you lived near me I'd be asking you right now for a one on one coffee session (sadly this is a forum, I'm pretty sure thats against the rules and should be, and you live in CO). But, if you would be up for a webcam/skype 1 on 1 where you can teach me on some of these topics that would be amazing. Not that me typing question... getting answers wouldn't be oh so much fun =/ I'm just a guy who likes to socialize verbally if I can.

Keep up the hard work in the thread =)

Thank you! Unfortunately, I find verbalizing ideas to be one of my most difficult tasks, leading dialogues with me to come out as garbled heaps of logic and clutter. I am, however, a very clear and lively writer, and would be happy to answer any questions you have in writing. And if it's spontaneity you desire, you can always just shoot me a message on AOL Instant Messenger, and we'll go from there.

I love our differences! The first thought that popped into my head is me talking over webcam and you writing a response. Crazy I know, but it was a cool thought. I'll write down my questions as they come to me =)

I just added the following album to the station:

Filthy Digital Records - FILTHYDIGITALEP002

It's good to finally be adding some Dubstep into the mix. Ever since reading about Dub/Reggae's remarkable influence upon Post-Punk, I wanted to start incorporate some into the station, but had no idea how I could possibly fit it in. Now with my discovery of Dubstep, I can finally give my station that incredible energy that music has.

Darn, you caught me! I haven't been collecting Gothic and related music since my first semester of college, I've been swiping it from you all this time. ;) Anyway, please do check it out when you get a chance. And yes, I have heard of Fearful Symmetry, I even have their album A Loss of Balance on the playlist.
