Hello my fellow followers of jesus!

Postby neoassassin2078 » Tue Apr 06, 2004 7:45 pm

I am here to introduce myself to all present here! I am a 17 year old male, roman catholic by default but actually I follow my own more "unique" beliefs which include not belonging to any organized church. I am quite a coneisur of anime. My favorites are comic party and Yami no Matsue. Its been estimated that I've read more than my weight in tankobans over the last five years.

What I hope to accomplish on this forum is to promote my philosophy. It is a philosophy based on tact and respect for the actions of other people, even my enemies. It is a philosophy based on the teachings of the greatest philosopher of all time, Jesus Christ.

I believe that the word of god is beyond the scope of human understanding and cannot be expressed in a three dimensional plane. The idea of a book containing gods word is blasphemy since god does not think worth words but rather with four dimensional thoughts that are beyond three dimensional understanding. The bible is merely the closest we will ever get to gods truth by speaking to him. The true destinyof mankind is to solve the mysteries of the universe on our own.

I ask you to think of jesus, not just as the son of god whom you must beleive in for salvation, but as a great philosopher who preached what will lead humanity to a new age if followed throughouly. It is not enough merely to believe that Jesus died for our sins, but rather by following his teachings humanity will enter a new golden age. Persecuting others over such a trifling matter as faith will only lead to violence and hate. This is not what god wants for us. I believe that true salvation comes from unity on earth and not just from faith in our maker.

Other than that, I have many more beliefs that I hope to comunicate with you. I look forward to starting a new life on this forum!

Welcome, neoassassin2078! :lick:

You have some interesting ideas. I agree that the wholeness of God is beyond our understanding on this plane. I will caution you, however, before the mods do, that debate is strongly discouraged on these forums. If you go about trying to sway others to your particular brand of faith, you're likely to get yourself banned. :banned: ... especially if you start calling the Bible blasphemous. People tend not to like that.

Your philosophy of tact and respect is great! I do hope you succeed in them here. Beyond that, have fun! :)

Huh. Like the wolf said, we mods won't encourage you to spout things like "The bible is blasphemous." Please note that CAA is all about Christians who happen to like anime. The fact that you signed up "to promote your philosophy" tells me you didn't read our FAQ. Please do. Let me be blunt, so that we don't get into any quarrels later about syntax.

1. Don't promote your beliefs. If you want to explore ours, that's fine. Proclaiming that yours are correct, and ours our blashphemous can and will get you banned.
2. Don't stir up arguments. See point one.

I'm not going to ban you, but I do strongly encourage you to think carefully about what you are posting before hand. And please read the FAQ.

Welcome! :)

It's good that you have a philosophy of tact and respect, but I can't say that I agree with much else that you say. However, I will not elaborate beyond saying that I disagree, as it doesn't look like the mods would be too happy about that.

I will say welcome, but I choose to keep my comments on your beliefs to myself in this thread, because I don't want to turn this to an argument, just note that I have them. I don't know how the mods will react to this. but I have a feeling they aren't going to like the whole Bible is blasphemous thing.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Hi and welcome!

I completely disagree with your beliefs, since I'm a Bible-believing Christian. And because I have kids on this board you will find me watching you closely if you start prosyletizing your false doctrine here.

Other than that, feel free to post as the rest of us. ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Welcome to the board.
I'm rather offended by your views, but I'm not going to elaborate because the above is enough. We're not going to try to shove our views down your throat, and I request that you try not to do this to those of us around you, especially me. Enjoy your peaceful posting time.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Well, since political debates seem to be such taboo here, I doubt I'll do much posting at all seeing as I don't want to"offend anyone. But I do a lot of posting at the forums at http://www.megatokyo.com under the same name. I warn you though, its one of "those" kinds of forums that promotes free speech and is just crawling with liberals and other people who are looking to get into fights/debates.

Well, arguing isn't limited to liberals (I am a conservative and I like to debate, for instance). In any case, the fact that debating is not allowed does not mean that we cannot discuss things in a polite, respectful manner (ideally that's how a debate should go anyway). Just keep in mind that the purpose of the board is not to rant and rave, but to help your brothers and sisters in Christ grow in their faith, particularly through the sharing of common interests, such as anime, manga, movies, video games, and books.

At least that's the understanding that's taken me through 1,850+ posts... ;)

I hope that you do decide to stay and post, just abide by the rules and you will be fine. :)

Welcome, I respect you for your beliefs as I do many other individuals in the world. I won't shove anything down your throat and I am open to argument. You know being in college I've had my fair share of defending my beliefs of God against suppose higher 'intellects' who either believe the Bible as fallacy or claim science as the only pure answer. I can go on and on; I wrote a paper spanning 2,500 words about why I FEEL there is a God and Jesus of Nazareth existed.

In any case if you are going to debate, please do it sensibly and with some politeness. I just cannot stand boards where members go on the deep end and begin to flame -- utimately trying to support their opinions.

Hope you stick around, and yes the sole purpose of this place is for people to renew or stabilize their faith in Christ while talking about various subjects. But that doesn't mean CAA isn't open to non-Christians.
