Whenever I go through a series I usually skip them but watch the OP and ED at least once and sometimes more depending on how much I like them.

One series I always skip the opening and closing for is Kaze no Yojimbo. The closing is ok, but the opening song is incredibly annoying. >.<

For me, it depends on the song...I'll sit through bad opening and ending animation if the song is catchy, or strikes me in just that certain way that sends me to cdjapa.co.jp to order the OP single. (In fact I did just that Pita Ten, Popotan, Ichigo 100%, Dual, and Kimi ga Nozomo Eien (Rumbling Hearts)Although, I always watch the OP/ED for the first two episodes of a given series to test them out. I also do that for VN such as "Yuuenchi" or "Amusement Park" to give the American release of the game by Hirameki, Int'l of late memory (I liked the OP and ED so much I bought the soundtrack)
"The beauty of Jesus is inexhasutible. ... He is beautiful everywhere, in the disfigurement of the Passion as well as in the splendors of the Resurrection, amid the horrors of the scourging as well as amid the indescribable attractions of Bethlehem. But above all things our Blessed Lord is beautiful in His Mother." Fr. Faber

I have been known to watch the OP of many anime series every episode... but honestly, it depends on the OP. If I really like it, and I'm not watching lots of episodes in a row, I'll probably watch it. Otherwise, I'll probably skip it...

Usually, I skip openings and endings, but there have been a few series where I've watched them every single time: Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai 7, Wolf's Rain, Last Exile, and Haibane Renmei. It was because I liked the songs enough.
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

The first time I see an OP/ED I usually watch it twice, once to follow the subtitles to the song if they have them and once to take in the animation. After that it depends on how much I like the song, how much time I have, cliff hanger effects and if they make changes to the visuals.
