Eureka Seven Movie

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-04-07/eureka-seven-movie-to-be-announced-in-newtype-mag

The May issue (on sale on April 10) of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine will officially anounce that an Eureka Seven movie has been greenlit for production. Director Tomoki Kyoda (RahXephon movie), character designer Kenichi Yoshida (Overman King Gainer), and special effects director Yasushi Muraki (Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, The Skull Man) will reportedly return to animate with new mechanical designs, as well as a new form of storytelling that differs how the BONES anime studio produced the RahXephon movie. Although the creators are promising a new Eureka Seven "mythos," it will still feature the Renton and Eureka characters that starred in the original television version. Bandai Entertainment released both the original anime television series and the manga spinoff in North America. The Adult Swim television network ran the program in the United States.

Oh my gord...! This is great! *___* but I fear this may not be a good thing, certain spinoffs/movies have been horrible though some have been extraordinary. I guess we won't know until it's made and ready to be put on DVD.

So...could someone please tell me what this series is about? *puts up shield*

And how's the show's content?

EDIT: *Sees theanimeguy sent in review*

Okay, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Hey, Kitchan! Now we get to have heated discussions about Eureka Seven ALL OVER AGAIN!!!:eyebrow:

Anyway, the ASMB kinda predicted that a movie was possible. I find myself wondering what direction will they take it in, now that the series is finished? I mean, will they rewind like they did with the Bebop movie, or will they pick up where they left off?

You and the entire viewing audience, Kitchan. But, honestly, you did a pretty dang good job showing us your interpretation a while back.

I hope they're able to get back the original V/A's for this production. Personally, I don't see anyone else playing Renton and Eureka. I would like to pass a resolution here and now--if Johnny Young Bosch and Stephanie Shea do not revise their roles as Renton and Eureka, we sick a ninja on them to open up massive cans of ownage. Who's with?

Wow, that's so cool! I'd love to see the movie. (I'll probably have to wait ages for it though) I hope they keep the original voice actors too.

I think a rewind worked for Bebop since the series is quite episodic. I don't see how they could pull off one for E7 unless they maybe go to completely before the series started, but hey... we'll just have to wait and see. :)

While I'm VERY excited about the concept of an Eureka Seven movie, the words " a new Eureka Seven mythos" scare the heck out of me. To me, that sounds like a total remake rather than a continuation, like the Escaflowne movie.

Agreed. I also hope it doesn't wind up like the Nadia: Secret of Blue Water movie. I only saw it once, but that was enough for me! The first half of the movie was mostly flashbacks to what happened in the series and the rest of it was just a jumble.

Personally, I can't see Eureka Seven without any of the other principal characters, because they're so interconnected with each other and they play a part in the development of Renton and Eureka's personalities and relationship.

What if they make it about the Kids, set a few years later? *Shudders* I really don't think that would be the same. They have to have Renton and Eureka!

"Psalm of Planets Eureka Seven" without Eureka is like "Neon Genesis Evangelion" without the Evangelion or "Hamtaro" without Hamtaro. Though, to be honest, a movie featuring the kids would be somewhat acceptable.

I don't think so because a few others like that picture have surfaced as well though I don't know. Isn't that the artwork on one of the DVD boxes though? ....I may be wrong.

I'm kinda doubting it. I've seen this picture floating around somewhere on the Adult Swim Message Boards. Also, in the upper left hand corner, it says "Psalm of Planets Eureka Seven 13", which leads me to believe that this is the cover for the next DVD volume (Maybe the last one). But, in the world of anime, anything is possible.

Its the cover of the last volume for E7.

I don't know if I'd be able to stomach a movie mainly about the kids. They weren't exactly my favourite characters. That's a pretty cool pic though.

They could be. But they seem a little too Renton&Eureka-ish to be brother and sister, if you know what I mean. Maybe one of them is Master Norb and Sakuya's or Dominic and Anemone's? Maybe they are Renton and Eureka, but from a different dimension. Maybe they're totally random characters designed for the sole purpose of causing random speculation. :thumb:

Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN: Pocket Full of Rainbows (交響詩篇エウレカセブン ポケットが虹でいっぱい) will be opening in theatres during Golden Week 2009 (Apr 29 - May 5). They're going to be selling special tickets in advance at Comiket 75 on December 28. The site also has a piece of stunning concept art up.
