He wants them to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there, He is pleased even with their stumbles.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.
Every New Day - On Distant Shores - Five Iron Frenzy

Nail pierced hands they run with blood
A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me

I LOVE the Myst games! I have the PSone/PS2 versions of all three out so far (not counting Uru) and I have the Myst novels on my bookshelf. Exile was my favorite of the three. Even though any time I got any of the games I'd practically live in it - and the ages contained therein - until I had it beaten, Exile was the only one I was able to beat without any help.

I haven't played any of them but the original, but Myst was a great game. It allowed me to do what I'd rather be doing anyway in a game: exploring. You could just drift around, look at cool stuff...there was no real pressure. And the stuff you found seemed really inventive...^^

SNIFIT 1: Booster, Sir! There's a 70% chance the object you're standing on is a cake.
BOOSTER: What? THIS thing's a cake?

You have the power to say anything you want, so why not say something positive?

(in response to an interview question "Do you have a pet peeve having to do with this biz?")
People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Exile was one of the best for the technology that they introduced to the series (full 360 views at each spot). I own all the games except Uru, but I haven't had a chance to install and play Real Myst.

I've read the books but haven't added them to by bookshelf yet. I should see about doing that this year maybe (I really enjoyed them).

UBI did good with Exile (except for the issues with certain 3D video cards with the game in hardware mode). I hope they can continue to make a good product this time around too (I know there was talk of another project when Exile came out).

That's what I like about adventure games in general. No rush, no lives or enemies. Just the player, the puzzles, and a wonderful world to interact with. My first adventure game was Scooby Doo, Where Are You? for the Genesis. I immediately fell in love with the genre before I even knew what it was.
