I remember a very old SNES game called Clock Tower, now, I do know that there are several versions of it. The PC version even has a large chapter stationed in Norway. The infamus Scissorman, or Scissormurderer as someone calls him really made me have a hard time with nightmares some time in the past. XD Good times.... Good times. There is no denying the great 2d horror action of the SNES and the poly awesomeness of the old generation of pc horror games.
Right now I am playing Dead Space, which might be the best modern horror game I can recall playing. Just made it to chapter 3 and I tell you, medical facilities are not a cosy place to be in when you are faceing such a nasty type of foe. I think the overall best achivement of the game is how the compose the lights in some of the regions, not to mention the moments they sometimes remove it. Oh, and gotta love it when enemies surrond you or creep up unexpectely behind you. Even when the enemy music is dead.
Now there are plenty of games to mention. FEAR, the expantion pack and FEAR 2 that will come out some time in the future are something I would defidently include in this category. Any games that is high on fear which includes anything from mystery-games to more direct shooter games. I would even include some games that has some terror elements like the Max Payne series and his nightmares. There is alot to find, and alot to like. While some games are not directly labeled as horror games, they can and should be included in a thread like this.
So, do share with us. What are you playing, what have you played and what's your take on it? Do the deep horror theme disturb you the most or are cheap scares what makes you react to the game?
