Any Jrock fans lurking out there?

Postby LetThereBeRaito » Mon Oct 20, 2008 4:26 am

I'm still rather new here, and havn't explored every thread on offer; but i must say, i havn't noticed any J Rock fans yet!

Anime/manga fans often go hand in hand with Jrock!

Anyone gonna come out the Jcloset? XD

I'm more into J-Pop, and all my hardcore VK J-Rock fan friends laugh at me for it AHAHAHAH.

But I like me some abingdon boys school. KAT-TUN (yeah, that KAT-TUN) is turning really VK J-Rocky recently, so I guess they count too?

as far as J-rock goes, X-Japan... I like Initial D, the Samurai Champloo soundtrack, some Utada Hikaru, and there are some theme songs I like from Bleach, Ghost in the shell, and Inuyasha.

Probably more of a J-pop guy, but I've hit on various unusual artists (usually by encountering themes they did for Anime) in other genres that I'm addicted to. A good example would be Santara (who kinda defy description. Sort of alternative country rock) and another would be Halcali (also defy description. Somewhere in between Hip-Hop and J-rock, but more Hip-Hop.) As with all music (I've got an incredibly eclectic CD collection) it isn't the genre that attracts me, but the quality of the music.

I haven't really gotten strongly into any true J-rock artists, although I much enjoyed the Pillows' soundtrack for FLCL. I've seen a few artist names here I really haven't looked into, but I plan to at some point.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

Largo: "Well Ed, good to see ya. Guess I gotta beat the crap out of you now."

I like J-rock but I don't know too many different bands. My favorite is Maximum the Hormone.
"Who is this?" they said to Me
'That the wind and waves obey
Come, let's hang Him on a tree
That His reign should pass away'
But here I am I say to you
Though you turn away, it is My will
To love you for forevermore
Peace be still, peace be still
