Sega Saturn, the forgotten system.

Sega Saturn, the forgotten system.

Postby Kenchii » Mon Mar 15, 2004 4:08 pm

Sega Saturn is one of the best systems for its eras. Right when we were getting out of 16-bit moving on to the "new" 32-bit consoles. At the time many systems tried to make there apparance. Jaugur, Playstation, Genesis 32X, 3DO, Nintendo 64, and Sega Saturn. (perhaps I have forgotton some other systems). But when SS was released it was slowly fading away from its rival, Playstation. So, Sega of America was putting out all the promotions towards the Saturn and that is how I ended up with it today. :) Well, I am getting to my other point ,,, umm oh yeah!!

So, Sega Saturn drowned back then, but many of us (Prizm Dash) still support the system and all of its GREAT titles and internet connections.

Yes folks, SegaNet for Saturn is still up, and yes... PEOPLE STILL PLAY TOGETHER OVER DAIL-UP MODEMS AROUND THE US.

I made a list of some of the great titles (most I own) These are must-buys (Domestic AND Imported). These selected games I chose out you will never get tired of playing. I'm telling you now. Even if you have a Gamecube, Playstation 2, or X-Box, these games are just as fun as the ones that are new and out in stores. They are also more original.

Action/Adventure: Astal,Bug 2, Nights Into Dreams, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shinobi Legions, Megaman X4, Burning Rangers.

Multiplayer: Saturn Bomberman, Bomberman Fight!!, Baku Baku.

Racing: Daytona, Sega Rally Champion. (I don't play racers!)

Role-Playing Game: Dragon Force, Shining Force III, Magic Ray Knight Earth, Albert Odyssey.

Shooter: Radiant Silvergun.

Fighters: Street Fighter Alpha 2, Marvel VS. Street Fighter, Groove on Fight, Guardian Heroes, Fighters Megamix, Fighting Vipers, Virtual Fighter 2, Virtual On, Darkstalkers, Cyborbots, King of Fighters 95', Last Bronx, Street Fighter Collection.

Hah, I am real fighter-fan. and I must say Saturn has the best fighters!

Note: I thought a Saturn thread was already up? Oh well.

I remember Virtua Fighter on a Saturn in the local Target. That was pretty cool back then, and it's still a lot of fun.

Saturn? I sorta remember that. Lunar looked like crap on that... Looked much better on PS1. They also had "Magic Knight Rayearth." Did it come before or after the PS1? If it came after PS1, then all I gotta say is
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
ehem...

Now for a word from our sponsers:

Yea I wanna get it . . . ahhhh Sega Saturn . . . I want it just for the MKR games and original Lunars alone (don't care if they look bad). ^_^

Well, it's prolly easier to find the Lunars for PS1. It's the same game. Only difference is they upgraded the music, sound effects, and added those Anime sequences. It's not like the PS upgrades of the first 5 (not counting 3 for famicom) FF games... They ran slower because of the horrible load times... Between Saturn and PS1, there shouldn't be any difference in load times. If anything, it would load faster on the PS1. If you're just getting it for MKR, then buy away... They're only like 30 bucks. Same with Dreamcast. The acutal game is going to be a bit harder to find, though.

Radiant Silvergun *drools* One of the greatest games ever made....

I love my Saturn *hugs his Saturn*
However a guy moved with most of my games, so I only have Sim City 2000 for it. I miss Guardian Heroes... that's a game that needs a remake or a port desperately.
