Hey Everyone

Postby TwilightApostle » Thu Mar 25, 2004 4:44 pm

Man, I wish there was a way to introduce myself without being so conspicuous. Anyways, I stumbled across this place a while back and thought it was the most awesome idea ever. I'll be around when I'm avoiding my homework.

-I hate the fact that I can't think of anything witty or funny to say. So I'll just say "midgets."-

Hi, welcome to CAA!

I'm glad you said "midgets" rather than "mimes". That would've been scary rather than funny.

You don't have to be witty or funny. Sometimes straight posts are all that is required.

Welcome, TwilightApostle.

I do not see any pressure for you to be funny. Personally, I have this problem of taking nearly everything I see seriously... yet I am still here. Do not worry about it.

Enjoy your stay here.

Hey, don't sweat the witty or funny thing. Afterall, if that were a pre-requisite for being a member-- well, there wouldn't be many of us here.

:jump: Allous and Welcomes! As others have said no worries. Though you can consider yourself lucky that you get a choice in the matter if you want to be funny ot witty - I on the other hand say what would be funny at one point in time at the wrong time and when it calls for something funny or witty, I'm just plain stupid. But hey! Who's complaining? ... Oh yeah, me ... well Tata! :thumb:
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

I think I'm going to enjoy it here. On a related note, are there other Christian anime/video game/Japanophile forums that are affiliated with CAA?

Greetings and welcome. :lick: Midgets to you as well.

The only other such forum I know of is Anime Angels, but I've never been there. Many people on this forum use that one too.

Hiyas, Apostle!

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

A Pleasure.

If you need anything just knock.

Milk, sugar, some one to talk to, or even a new Avitar.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Hi and welcome!!! ^_^ Anyhoos, what animes do you like?

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Am I the only one who found midgets funny?

I remember this one thing in grade 7 where we got into groups and had a brainstorming session - passing around a piece of paper and writing anything we could think of. We were given a tin can and asked to brainstorm the uses.
Elevator was on the page when it got to me ... so I promptly wrote "for midgets" beside it.

So, err...welcome TwilightApostle.
I'm back to make a post or two every couple years...

Welcome! :)

There is one other forum that is more or less a spin-off of this one, called Button Mashers. It is basically a Christian gaming forum. It is really new, and I would encourage you to check it out:

Hey everyone, thanks for the awesome welcome! This place has already been a blessing to me. I'm totally excited to find a community of believers who are into anime and games and stuff.

As for my favorite anime, on HEAVY rotation in my DVD player are Witch Hunter Robin, Abenobashi, Hajime no Ippo, X, and Ninja Scroll. NS isn't really a good series, but I have a soft spot for it 'cause of the movie.

My "favorite of all time" list can go in the extended intro section, I guess.
