Hello There!

Postby kittybell » Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:10 pm

Hi everyone!

My name is Nikkia, I am 24 years old, and I am new to this forum. :) I have been a Christian for 6 years(I just recently celebrated my spiritual birthday on the 2nd of this month) and I am loving every minute of it.

I have been into anime for the longest time, but I haven't had *too* much exposure with it. My favorites are Sailor Moon, Kodomo no Omocha, Mahoromatic and Fruits Basket(I *love* Kyo!). At the present time, I am in the process of watching Bleach.(I'm only in the 50's right now)---so there's much work to be done. So if there are any anime/manga that anyone would like to suggest to me, feel free! ^_^

I hope to be an active member here. God Bless.

Hi, and welcome to CAA! Hope you enjoy your time here! As for anime suggestions, you'll probably find a lot of good help in our Anime Recommendations Thread, so ask around and see what people have to suggest! For a quick recommendation here, I'd suggest Rurouni Kenshin--it's a good one for people who haven't had much experience with anime, and was my first series. XD

Anyways, welcome to the boards! See you around!

Sweet! Another Sailor Moon starter! *hug*---What kind of genre am I into? Hmmm...good question. Not too sure. I do know that I *loved* Sailor Moon, Fruits Basket and Kodocha. So I guess kiddish stuff like that. The plot wasn't hard to understand, and there was always a character that I just ended up falling in love with...and those series weren't that long(well Sailor Moon was 200 eps...but the plot was that interesting that I never noticed or cared) ...and it was excellent enough that I was upset when it ended. So I guess, stuff like that. Stuff that's silly, and with lots of funny stupid stuff/characters.

I'm not sure if that answers your question or not.

I hear Magical Knight Rayearth is good for Sailor Moon fans. And if you want a good parody of the whole Magical Girl formula, check out Pretty Sammy.

Welcome aboard, kittybell.

I would also add Ai Yori Aoshi as a nice romantic comedy. It's quite a bit more brash than Fruits Basket, but right down the same alley.

Strawberry Marshmellows and Azumanga Daioh are excellent "slice of life" anime in the same genre as Kodocha, as well.

Hello!

My fave magic girl anime is Saint Tail (do NOT watch the dub, though. It hurts kittens.) First anime was InuYasha, though. (Great classical score.) Oh, and I second RD's recommendation of Kenshin.

Please check your sanity at the door. ^_~

I have the first disc of Saint Tail. Watched it, kinda liked it, but wasn't sure if I should continue with it. Don't worry, the last thing I want to do is hurt kittens. :)

Ooh, sounds like me :D I love that comedy/romances ^ ^ Hmmm, one with alot of funny silly moments... *thinks* o.O? Ooh, have your read/seen Utramaniac ^ ^ I read some of the manga. It's cute :D Love Hina has some pretty funny moments as well :) My favorite is Fushigi Yugi. It has it's funny moments also. It's a bit longer tho. Not as long as Sailor Moon, but longer then Love Hina. Sixty-Five episodes altogether including the OVA and Eikoden :D

Nope, I don't believe I've heard of Ultramaniac. I will try and check that out. Thanks. :) I love comedy more than the romance though. But if both are there, then it's cool.

Heyya Nikkia! Welcome to the CAA! ^__^ I second whoever suggested Ultra Maniac, such a cute series. I also love the shojo/slice of life/kiddy series like Kamichu!, Strawberry Marshmallow, Kaleido Star (THAT is a must see show!), Princess Tutu (perfection), Someday's Dreamers (So sweet!), Chance Pop Session, Haibane Renmei, Peach Girl (Go! Momo Go!!), Rumiko Takahashi Anthology, Petite Princess Yucie, and Sentimental Journey is a great subtitled series...same with Fancy Lala! My goodness the list goes on and on. So, I'll keep it brief, hope to catch ya on the forum! :)

Welcome to the Nuthouse! I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to offer much in the way of suggestions, though. I'm not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to the majority of the series mentioned here.
