hi?

If you're new to CAA, we invite you to tell us about yourself here. This is the place to post your own bio or read up on other members. Be as in depth as you like!

hello

Postby Mist » Sat Jan 26, 2008 5:37 pm

Hihi! My name is Mist, otherwise known as Elly. I am 16 and am in love with the Lord and anime. I joined this site to interact with other Christian anime fans.

I love to draw, as well as write. I try to incorporate my love of God in all that I do, despite being stigmatized and downtrodden for it. I am really looking forward to making friends here.

But, I do have one concern. I read your opinion on homosexuality, and I'm not fully sure where you stand. Do you believe that being homosexual is wrong, or that just the act is wrong. Personally, I feel that the act of homosexuality is a sin, but being a homosexual isn't. After all, God made everyone and loves us all equal, including homosexuals. Sorry, it's just that this is a topic that is very close to me.

I could have sworn I made a post here... Sorry if it ended up in another board!

Anyway, I'm Mist (or Elly, IRL). I'm 16 years old and love anime almost as much as I love the Lord!

My hobbies include drawing, writing, surfing the web, and procrastinating. I hope to make some new friends here. I'm happy to join a community of Christian anime fans. I don't have that privilege in real life, unfortunately.

Hello and a very warm welcome to you. I hope you enjoy it here. ^_^
I know what you mean, it's hard for me to find christian anime fans in real life where I live as well. I'm glad you found us here, though.

- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."

- John Piper

"Grace is the pleasure of God to magnify the worth of God by giving sinners the right and power to delight in God without obscuring the glory of God!"
-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."
- John Bunyan

Welcome to the forums; I hope you enjoy your stay.

As far as the stances, you would have to ask the writer (Ashley) personally. It is not a requirement for every member to believe it exactly nor was it written by committee.

Hi? Hai!

Seeing no other responses on the other subject of your first post (homosexuality), I thought I would respond.

Having the desires or predisposition or whatever you want to call it, can not possibly be a sin. A temptation, perhaps, but not a sin. How you respond to these feelings is where the question of sin comes into play. Having temptations is something we call being 'Human'.

For my part, I do believe it is wrong, and I believe it is as much a mental affliction as any other sexually oriented misfiring of the mind. My wish for the person so afflicted is a cure. It's unfortunate our society at large seems to be against seeking such a cure, and thus no effort is being made.

People try to 'prove' it is 'natural' and therefore 'okay' by showing a biological basis for it, showing it somehow comes from the neurology of the brain, but I answer that you could perform the same proof on pederasty or, outside the sexual arena, alcoholism, schizophrenia, or domestic abuse. All of these have been shown or suspected to be results of neurological predisposition. We don't call them okay just because God appears to have made the person that way. We do our best to help and if possible, cure the sufferers of these things.

Does that make me a 'homophobe'? Only in the sense that I fear for the homosexual who is not seeking God's help for his or her condition. I welcome any person who identifies themselves as 'gay' or whatever as an equal member of the same Christian family, whether or not they understand or accept my beliefs on the subject. I am an equal sinner before the Lord, so I refuse to cast stones.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.
