Hi,
I'm new. That's why I'm typing in the "Hi, I'm new" part of CAA.
Umm, I'm kind of new to anime I suppose. I mean, I watched it when I was in middle school and it was on Toonami, but other than that I haven't really been on the scene or whatever.
My friend recently sat me down and had me watch the Cowboy Bebop movie and Akira and I thought they were pretty cool so I decided to start looking into other anime. Right about that time I realized I didn't really know anything at all about anime or manga or <insert something related to anime and manga here>.
Long story short, I find myself here, hoping that you (the people) will have suggestions for me.
Anyway...yep.
Feel free to ask me questions, make demands, poke fun, or anything else that doesn't require physicality (seeing as this is the internet and all).

If you've any interest in unlicensed anime and don't mind more violent series, I heartily recommend "Baccano!". 13 episodes of pure awesome, with more to come (three more direct-to-DVD episodes and a feasible second/third season). Read about it here and see if you think you'd like it!

Essentially, it's anime that's only been released in Japan and hasn't been "licensed" by an American distribution company for dubbing and selling in America. XD Unlicensed anime is generally "fansubbed"--that is, translated and subtitled by fans--and is only available for download/streaming. It's also not a particularly welcome topic on the boards (at least, the methods used to come into possession of these unlicensed series, as the legality of downloading any sort of media, whether available for purchase in the US or not, is questionable and often argued over), so if you have any further questions on how to find one series or another, you'll have to resort to private messages. XD
