Support and Prayer needed

Postby silver_wolf454 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:07 pm

I've put this off way longer than I needed to but I digress....I have a very close friend, she's almost a sister to me, that is a J-wittness. I realy would love prayer for her. I realy have been praying hard for God to show her the light but I feel I need help. So any prayer and support would be nice.

If anyone could also give me any help with converting her, any scriptures or storys of testimony, I would love that as well.

Thank you.

I wish I had some personal experience in these matters to offer advice from, but I'll definitely be praying for you and her.

The best testimony to convince her with is your own - the one you live every single day. Live what you believe and don't be afraid to speak the truth. When you fail in this, be honest and forthcoming about it. The better you become in practicing your own faith, the better you will become in convincing her.

The theological differences between Jehovah’s Witnesses and mainstream Christians are pretty deep. On the surface, even Christians and J-Witnesses may not even understand what those differences are. So it’s very important that you understand what it is you believe. You must not only know what you believe, but why you believe it so that you can speak to it and defend it. Not that you need to become a CS Lewis and go about “defending the faith” against all comers, but you do need to be able to state your beliefs and the reasons for those beliefs if you hope to convince anyone with different beliefs.

I agree with termyt. The biggest impression you can leave on your friend is how you live out your faith.
K. Ayato: What happens if you press the small red button?

*Explosion goes off in the movie*

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

CARM is a good website for Christian apologetics and for resources for talking to friends of different faiths.

Here is their page on JW: (I had used this page to learn more about JW when I had a couple of them visit me during the summer.)

I pray that God will open your friend's eyes to the truth.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves."
