Flash Gordon

Postby mitsuki lover » Fri Jul 27, 2007 1:52 pm

Before Captain Kirk the two greatest sci fi heroes in America were
Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.Over the years both have been the subject of numerious comics, novels,tv series and movies(where in the '30s they were both played by Buster Crabbe who made a special reappearance on the '80s Buck Rogers tv series).
Starting next month Sci Fi Channel revives Flash Gordon for a new generation.
All the familiar faces(with different actors...of course)will be there:
Flash Gordon
Dale Arden
Professor Zukov
Ming The Merciless(and if you remember the Voyager episodes featuring
Tom Paris' Captain Proton holodeck program you will remember Chaotica as a riff on Ming).
Good times ahead.Can't wait! :thumb:

FLASH! OOOOOOOOOH!

HE'LL SAVE EVERY ONE OF US!

If they don't have that song in the series somewhere, it fails. XD

I can't wait, I'd also like to see a revival of Buck Rogers

The old black and white serials were great, I'll have to see what they make of the story this time around.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I'm kind'a sad they're going with the 70's flash instead of the 30's serial flash... Still, should be a fun watch. ^-^

As I said on the Abhnations Forum,I thought it was good up to the point when they revealed what the 'Imex' that Ming was looking for actually was,but when they revealed what it was I thought it was totally anti-climatic.

I wonder how Flash is gonna explain the new roomie to his mom.
Ming continues to impress me as probably the best character on the series.

I actually enjoy this show. It's just a great version of the original.
