Game Grudge III: M$ and Nintendo's Flagships duke in out....

^Title misspelling, I know.... it not in. Blasted dyslexia ;)

So........ who's cooler........ Master Chief or Samus Aran? which is the better game, Metroid Prime or Halo? and the soon to be best Alien blaster of '04, Metroid Prime 2 or Halo 2?

Match ups...

Coolness: Samus vs. Master Chief

I'm putting my money on Samus. She's a bounty hunter and bounty hunters are just cool. :thumb:

Game: Halo vs. Metroid Prime

Yeah, I've played Halo for the PC and X-box. I give Halo an applaud on the sweet multiplayer. Yet, Metroid Prime has my vote. Why? It's a true video. Just fun, great to look at, smooth gameplay, well laid out controls (takes time to adjust to), fun to relive, explosions, and well, I could go on. My only complaint is... it wasn't hard enough. And that's not a bad thing.

The '04 King or Queen: Halo 2 and Metroid Prime 2

I'm still sticking with Metroid, because I trust Retro Studio.

Alright, the tables are turned over to ya'll. Which is the true meaning of awesome? Be nice, don't fight.

I voted Metroid Prime mainly because I grew up on the Atari 2600 and NES. I must stay faithful to my roots!

Besides, I felt MP had more substance than HALO (run-n-gun). There is nothing wrong with running and gunning, I think it's loads of fun at a LAN or other video game party... But playing solo, Metroid all the way! :thumb:

Im not so sure these two are in the same class.

Metroid seams more like an adventure shooter, where you have puzzles to solve, and gagits to impliment, while gunning down the enemy, or rolling them over.
On the other Hand Halo is a sort of "Run-n-Gun" type of game (thanks for the term Akaida ^^), comparable (in that aspect) to games like Quake. But that is not Halo's strengh. Halo's strength lies in its impressive AI and mulitplayer modes. Sure you may have a fun game, but when you can play through with your friend there gunning right next to you it doubles the fun factor (imho), Im not just talking about taking turns, I mean "Keep that tank buisly while I go hyjack a Banshee and toast these guys!!!"
On top of that, being able to network 4 X-Boxes together and play 4x4 capture the flag or kill'em all, now we are talking exponential fun.
Sorry, but for replay value and fun with friends, Halo wins hands down.
Now if you want to just go play all by your self then Metroid is a great game, and probably has a funner (I know thats not a word) plot.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I hate to say it (and I really haven't had a chance to play Metroid Prime), but I think Halo can hold it's own... and have you seen then in-game video for Halo 2?

Haven't seen anything on the sequal to MP, but I will have to say what video I've seen of it was rather impressive.

Being a Sony fan, this situation reminds me of the slogan from the upcoming Alien vs. Predator movie:

"Whoever wins...we lose." :P

If I have to choose, I pick Halo. Master Chief is much cooler than Samus (yellow and orange are not the colors of a warrior :eyeroll: ). Halo is also a better game, offering great graphics, impressive AI, and unbeatable multiplayer. It also doesn't hurt that I own Halo (for the PC), but have never played Metroid Prime.

This isn't a hard pick. It's Metroid.... Think about it.

A lone Bounty Hunter taking on ENTIRE PLANETS of evil aliens hell bent on universal destruction/domination. She succeeds EVERY time AND manages to blow up the planet/space station as a bonus ;)

I would LOVE to see Halo guys or any other guy take on a Metroid and come out on top.

What's that you say? Metroids can only be harmed by concussion weapons? And AFTER being frozen? Oh such a pity...

And what else do you say? If a Metroid latches on ONLY a bomb ball gets them off? Such a shame...

lol
I am the Reaper of Souls... and it's harvest time.

The Master Chief could defitely do it if he had the right equipment, which he could undoubtedly get since Cortana (the A.I. system in his suit) telling him what to do.

At any rate, if you want to start talking about bomb balls and freeze bombs and that stuff, then you really can't compare the games anymore. Halo is a first person shooter, whereas Metroid started off as a platformer. This necessitates that Samus can turn herself into a ball, do insane jumps, etc. that simply wouldn't translated well to Halo gameplay.

Oh yeah...Master Chief can use a sniper rifle, tanks, and banshees.

Wait...why am I arguing about this???
