friend has rare disease...

Postby Danderson » Mon Jul 16, 2007 3:59 pm

Recently I got an email from a very close friend of mine....in it she says she has found out that she has a rare disease called Lagerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH)...I knew that she had been getting tested on becuase of some weird rash on her arm, but I don't think any of us (friends, family, herself) thought it'd be this serious...

...Please keep her in your prayers, as well as her family and friends...At the moment it sounds like it hasn't hit her yet, but already it has hit me and more then likely her family and the rest of her friends very hard...Yes, she is a believer...

(What's weird is that given the sictuation, I should probably be angry at God, but really I'm not...It's not His fault she got it....We live in a sinful world and that's not His fault either...)

Can't remember exactly, but it's more of a gradual process from what she told me, and it's more lethal if it is found in an infant (which she is not...thank God)...

Baisically, the person has too many white blood cells called histiocytes. Don't know what that means, but I guess it's like what happens when you take too many medications when you only need one pill...

The good news (and I found this out after worrying terribly) is that the majority who get it usually recover completely (...eventually...again, infants are usually the ones more at risk)...

...So, for the most part, it sounds like she'll keep living her life the way she has been(except for a few trips to the doctor every now and then)...being a normal person...I guess what scarred me (and still scares me) is that it's a such a rare disease that no one knows how you get it and (like with cancer) no one has found an immediate cure for it...

...Thanks for your prayers guys...

OMGosh!!!!
I just receieved some of the best news ever concerning my friend last night....Of late she and her family went to see a specialist and accoarding to him (or her...).....She never even had the Disease....;).....It sounds like all she has is just an alergic reaction to nickel (not coins)......

But I'm still going nuts:wow!::dizzy: over this whole thing (in a good way of course), becuase it's just been amaing to see her grow with this whole thing....Becuase eventually it did get to a point where she really did get scared and became fearful of it....But then she decided to give all of her fear over to God, knowing that he knows best.......It's just been amazing to watch her grow these last couple of weeks.....

......Thanks ever so much for your prayers guys. God has just really shown me the power of prayer and this is proof that it works.....Now me and my friends just can't stop praising him....

It was all Him guys.....It was all Him.....
