Socks Q&A Session

Postby KhakiBlueSocks » Sat May 12, 2007 8:49 pm

Okay, okay. I know I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but this is something I really wanted to do--especially since I hit the 1,000 message mark! So, if you have any questions about me (unless they're EXTREMELY PERSONAL, then I'll sic my army of space hippies after you) feel free to ask, and I'll reply!

My avatar...well, he's supposed to be my alter ego...his name is Mokoto, and he's a space hippie/techno geek! He tends to change his haircolor a lot, as well as atmospheric status. At times, he has his own style, but sometimes he can take on the appearance of a Jamacian Charlie Brown, or Izzy from Digimon (as seen at left).

My top five animes have to be (in no particular order) Digimon, Eureka Seven, Evangelion, His and Her Circumstances, Nerima Daikon Brothers and Midori Days.

Truth be told, I'm not that into Manga, so I don't have a top 5 list, but I do like the Fullmetal Alchemist series, and Fruits Baskets (from what I've seen). I'm also like Kare-Kano.

I think I'll ask the question on everybody's mind: why the large, blue, boldfaced font of choice?
I like to stand out! I love the Trebuchet MS font--something that nobody else seems to use. Everyone else uses the standard Veranda font, I wanted to go with something special! The blue font is a recent change I decided on upon hitting my 1,000 post. Time for a change, I guess!

What's so good about Digimon and the Evangelion Opening Song?
For the Digimon song, I love how repetitive it is, and the beat sounds great too. Besides, as I stated above, Digimon is one of my favorite anime. As far as Evangelion goes, I love it because there are just so many freaking versions of it! The acid-rock version, the "Shinji" version (as sung by Shinji's original V/A) and the Dance Dance Revolution version which makes great driving tunage.

My dream car, huh? Well, while I am truly blessed with my current ride (1993 Acura Legend), my dream car has to be a Dark Blue New VW Beetle Convertable with peanut butter color leather seats. I've always had a soft spot for VW Beetles, I don't know why. My family teases me about it saying that I'm too tall for a Beetle, but I really don't care--I'm going to be sitting in the Drivers seat, so I can push it back as far as I wanna!

Pushing someone off a cliff is not really my style, but if I had to pick someone without SERIOUSLY hurting them, I would have to push my stepfather off the aforementioned cliff, for a lot of personal reasons I won't get into here. But yep, that's who I would push.

Why did you choose the name Khaki Blue Socks?

Radical Edward from Cowboy Bebop. I would most definately date her becasue she has this sort of freeness (if that's a word) with her that I would love to have in a relationship!

I love telling the story about my SN! Well, the "KhakiBlue" prefix came from my old High school uniform--Khaki pants and Blue shirts. It's a prefix I used starting my sophmore year of high school, and it stuck ever since! The "Socks" part came around from an episode of Digimon: Digital Monsters season one Izzy's socks. They're this cool color green, and it stuck with me for a while! So, there ya go!

Are you a hippy (peace, man)?

Are your socks really khaki and blue?

.............*waits 30 seconds*........... WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE DICTATOR?!!!

Am I really a hippie? Well, no. I'm only 21, but I do believe that once upon a time, I was a hippie in the 70's! Not a drug using hippie, mind you, but one of those cool hippie guys that went to Strawberry Alarm Clock concerts and preached peace and love!

Ummm, no. At this moment at work, my socks are black. I don't really like 'em, but hey. When dressing business casual, it kinda fits the bill. Sadly, I don't have any khaki or blue color socks, but if you come across any, please let me know, okay?

My favorite dictator...umm....does Bill Gates count?

What do you think about Adult swim and CN?

Heh. Well...for the time being, they're serving an important purpose: bringing anime to the masses on basic cable. In Baton Rouge, if you don't have digital cable, Adult Swim and CN is IT if you want to watch anime. But, with Sci-Fi's announcement that they're airing anime, AS and CN better get their game up and start respecting their anime fans a bit more and bring some fresh goods or else they're days are numbered.

Seriously do you live in the area of Lousiana that was hit hard by Katrina and if so how badly was your home town damaged?

Thank God, no. I'm in Baton Rouge. We WERE hit, and it did cause some damage in the surrounding area, but we weren't hit nowhere as hard as New Orleans was. Really something to be thankful for.

GREAT questions guys! Please keep 'em coming!

I'm not really into sports, so I'm not really a "Fan" of either, but by default, I'm a Saints fan.

who are your top 3 favorite anime characters?
what's your 3 favorite movies?

Hideaki Asaba (His and Her Circumstances) - Hillarious character, very insightful at times, and the perfect friend for Yukino and Arima.

Ichiro (Nerima Daikon Brothers) - He's just so cool, and so mellow, and I LOVE his blue outfit! His love of Pandaikon did freak me out at first, but I'm an open minded individual--Panda Love for all!!!

Moondoggie (Eureka Seven) - He rocks my socks just because of that name! And his surfer/street speak left me screaming!

My three favorite movies are Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Short Circuit II, and A Night To Remember.

What I do when I'm bored depends on where I'm at when boredom strikes. If I'm at work with no calls in queue, I just check my work e-mails, talk to my co-workers or do a word search puzzle. If I'm at home, I just go to sleep, or watch some TV, or maybe jump online and surf the forums!

When it comes to music, as long as it doesn't use profanity, I'm happy! My car is littered with burned DVD's containing everything from Eureka Seven soundtrack, Digimon theme songs (Japanese and English), to Earth, Wind and Fire and Otis Redding! Anything that makes great driving tunage I listen to!

what's your favorite sport?

Though I'm not athletically inclined, I would have to say my favorite sport is Swimming. Though, I haven't done it in forever.

What's you favorite breed/type of rodent?

Ummm...I've always been partial to the white rat. They're so kawaii!

I'm a real old-school gamer--I still have my N64, Sega GENESIS, and Super Nintendo! The only disk-based game that I can honsetly say I enjoyed is "The Legend of the Dragoon" for Playstation. 4 Disks long, it'll take over a week to play to the end--never finished it, though.

I do have a weeks worth of vacation coming up, though...

what would you do if you were given $1,000,000?

A Million dollars really isn't much nowadays, is it? I mean, any John Q. Public can go on Deal or No Deal or "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" and get a million just by chance. After taxes, you're not left with much. But, assuming the million is tax-free, I would give 1/2 of it to my mom. Then the other 1/2 would be spent on getting myself into college, a new car, a nice apartment, and an Eureka Seven complete Box Set for all my friends both online and offline!

When I grow up, I want to be one thing, and one thing only--a man of God.

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

okay, next question:
what's your favorite Bible verse?

Check the signature bar, my friend! I love both of those verses, but if I were to pick just one, I would pick:

[color=#2e8b57]Joshua 10:8: And the Lord said to Joshua "Fear them not: For I have delivered them into thine hand]
Joshua: Hebrew -The LORD is Salvation

My favorite work of fiction is Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt. You HAVE to read it. It's a great book in the Tillerman series! I also enjoyed "The Seven Percent Solution" by Nickholas Meyer, but haven't read it in a while because I owe quite a tidy bit of money to the public library!

The worst movie I've ever seen? Ummm...I would have to say...Star Trek 5: The Final Frontier. William Shatner should stay in front of the camera, not behind it! Seriously, all across the board, this movie really bit the big one. The only good thing to come from it was the cool flat-panel touchpad displays that were first used!

The worst anime I've ever seen has to be Reign: The Conquerer--if you could call that monstrosity anime. Seriously, it made me nauseous! I try to give an anime at least three episodes before I determine if I absolutely hate it, but I couldn't even get through one episode, and that's saying something!

Sadly, I have yet to see Mystery Science Theatre 3000, but it sounds like something I would be interested in.

ANd finally, heck yeah! The Borogroves were completely mimsy! Never seen anything like it!
