Infinity on High

Postby Miss WWE 2007 » Thu Apr 19, 2007 7:32 am

Have any of you guys listened to Fall Out Boys Infinity on High c.d yet? My best friend bought it for me as a Birthday present...I was so glad that he got it for me...

My favorite songs on it is:
1. This aint a scene, it's an Arms Race
2.Hum Hallejuhah (Misspelled that word)
3.I'm like a lawyer With the Way I'm always trying to get you off (Me&You)
4.Don't You know who I think I am?
5. Fame<Infamy
"I wanna heal, I wanna feel what I thought was never real
I wanna let go of the pain I’ve held so long
(Erase all the pain till it’s gone)
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m close to something real
I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along
Somewhere I belong

I will never know myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel anything else, until my wounds are healed
I will never be anything till I break away from me
I will break away, I'll find myself today

"-Linkin Park (Somewhere I Belong)

Yeah, I bought it right after it came out. I'm not sure if I like it or From Under the Cork Tree better.

It has some great songs on it like The Take Over the Break's Over, Fame < Infamy, Thnks Fr th Mmrs, Don't You Know Who I Think I Am?, I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None On My Fingers, Thriller....the whole CD is really catchy, though.

Just imagine me saying that here.

Sorry I dislike mainstream attempts at pop-infused punk.

I think you're the first person on this planet that has called me a retard for not liking Fall Out Boy.

BUT, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so this thread should be used for those who enjoy this um....band to discuss the nature of the album.

Listen, I used to like Fall Out Boy, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with mainstream pop punk.

I like MxPx.
They're much more "Teen-Dreamy-Poppy" music than these guys are.

It's THIS album I don't prefer.

They're not THAT bad, I'm just not interested in this album.

While I don't like FOB much anymore, I'll still listen to them.

And I have a better understanding of your point of view because you're exactly right.
Those three songs that you mentioned are the only songs I've heard off From Under the Cork Tree ("Sugar, We're Going Down" is still unbelievably catchy), I have heard their first album in its entirety.
I've also heard most of this album and it just doesn't seem as good as From Under the Cork Tree.

Actually that's why I don't like Children of Bodom anymore.

Fall Out Boy's style for Infinity on High is far less mainstream than their previous release.

I just don't like the sound as much as their past album.

Now I'm sorry if its alright for Nate to do that, but it's not alright for me.
I forgot that I don't have the right to do that.

Honestly, to call me a retard for just joking around in a thread like you do all the time, just because there's a slight disagreement in our musical taste (since we seem to agree on everything else) is low.

I didn't say it's okay for Nate to say that. I gave him a WAY harder time about FFXII than I've given you here.

Whatever, Tom. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have called you that. Next time be more clear about what you mean, though, from the start. This thread started off positive, now let's get it back on track.

Apologies.

I just demonstrated the immaturity I have come to hate from others.

Now, I will maturely share my opinion.

I do not care for this album as much as their stuff on From Under the Cork Tree, and I find their first album even worse.

First album, you mean Take This To Your Grave?

Yeah, that album is not good, I definitely agree. The stuff prior to that is even worse. I think I like From Under equally with Infinity, though.

Yeah, they had one called Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend and it's basically unlistenable.

I really like this album but the song "This Ain't A Scene It's An Arms Race" uses the Lord's name in vain too much. That's my favorite song on IOH, however.
