Also, it's worth mentioning that Adult Swim threatened that if their Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie doesn't do well in theatres, then the Saturday Anime lineup goes bye-bye. I don't believe it for a second...

This sounds like a great topic for a thread...excuse me...

They are joking, because the movie will do just fine. After all, comedy shows beat the anime shows in ratings.

On another note:

Spirited Away will air on June 3 on TCM.

It's where they announces new shows or blocks or events for this year.

CN and Adult Swim has them every year. It was just this year, that Adult Swim one was later, when CN was in March.

Ok so do you mean that Shin-chan is being removed from the weekly line up and put in the Saturday line up?As Buffy once told Giles:"Could you vague it up for me?"
I personally see the placing of Bleach reruns to the 12:30 a.m. Mon.-Th. time as a sign that AS might be more than a bit concerned over the new Ani-Monday on
Sci Fi.Yes it is only one day but isn't it interesting that they decided all of a sudden to put reruns of their top two animes on back to back(Bleach and Inuyasha)AFTER
Sci Fi's announcement?
I know this is called counter-programming,but I would also think that they probably realized that they would actually loose viewers to Sci Fi on mondays if they kept
Shin-chan in place.

Yes, but I don't think they are doing this because Shin-chan has a lack of ratings. I think they are doing it, because they don't have any more new eps to run. The rating haven't been that bad at all. Since they aired all the eps that AS has for now, it would be better put it on Saturday night.

I personally see the placing of Bleach reruns to the 12:30 a.m. Mon.-Th. time as a sign that AS might be more than a bit concerned over the new Ani-Monday on Sci Fi.

I really don't think Adult Swim is that concerned about it. Like you said, that block is only on for one day. On July 2rd, FMA will take the 1:00 am slot and IY will have both the 1:30 and 2:00 am slot. That is when they start the Monday thru Friday lineup. Also, they will drop the 10:30 pm and 5:30 am time slot from their lineup.

Then in August, Bleach will be remove from the weeknight lineup and Blood+ will take 12:30 time slot. I feel that if they are that concerned, they would pick up some new anime. I do have a feeling that Adult Swim may have some news at AX, that they have pick up some new anime. But I have a feeling that it may only be one series and a movie and they will not air untill the fall.

I know this is called counter-programming, but I would also think that they probably realized that they would actually loose viewers to Sci Fi on mondays if they kept Shin-chan in place.

But would it be that big of a number of viewers that they may lose? After all, the Sci Fi block runs from 11 pm to 1 am. If they were that worried about losing viewers, wouldn't you think they would put anime on sooner and not when the Sci Fi block is going to end?

Plus, Futurama, Family Guy, Robot Chicken and ATHF will still air from 11 pm to 12:30 am on Adult Swim. That is still the bread and butter for Adult Swim.

Yes, Adult Swim will lose some views, but it will not be that big of a problem for them.

I want Sci Fi Channel block to work, but they have to be smart about it. If the people at Sci Fi Channel gets over-confident right off the bat and think they can knock Adult Swim of their block. Then anime block for Sci Fi Channel is doom.

I noticed that the Friday Slot has a solid two hours of anime, while comedy has one. Is that true?

Main reasons for taking a break from watching AS week nights during the Summer:

1.More interested in getting into Ani-Monday.
2.Need to spend more time with my own DVD collection.
3.Before watching the Inuyasha ep.:"Naraku's Insidious Plot" thought to myself
for the Nth time in a row:"Why am I watching this on AS so late when I can
just as easily watch it earlier on DVD?"
4.Feel like getting into a rut.

That said I am still going to watch Bleach and Blood + on Saturdays but they will be the only AS shows I plan on watching for the Summer.

I still don't have a full lineup for Toonami for this month. But I do know this, Bobobo and One Piece have taken over the time slots that MAR and Prince of Tennis had.

From my understanding, the lineup will look like this.

7:00 pm DBZ

7:30 pm Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (new ep)

8:30 pm Naruto

9:00 pm Naruto (new ep)

9:30 pm Fantastic Four (new ep)

10:00 pm Bobobo (new ep)

10:30 pm One Piece (new ep)

I just don't know, what they will show at 8:00 pm.

Bobobo has about 15 more eps to go, before its done.

Well, the comedy will get an one hour and half and anime will get two hours, starting July 2.

When they are going to drop the 10:30 pm and 5:30 am timeslot and Friday night will be added to AS lineup.

The lineup will be like this.

11:00 Futurama

11:30 Family Guy

12:00 ATHF

12:30 Bleach

1:00 FMA

1:30 Inuyasha

2:00 Inuyasha
