Hey, this is my first time starting a thread, but I though it was warranted.

Has anyone seen this trailer yet? I mean....wow.

By the same man who brought us Parinoia Agent, and many other great anime.

- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."
- Westminister Confession of Faith (Chapter 5, Section 1)

"The wisdom of God has found a way for the love of God to deliver sinners from the wrath of God all the while upholding the righteousness of God!!"
- John Piper

"Grace is the pleasure of God to magnify the worth of God by giving sinners the right and power to delight in God without obscuring the glory of God!"
-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."

I am a major Satoshi Kon fan. I've seen all of Paranoia Agent (And I loved it) as well as Perfect Blue.

I am definitely looking forward Paprika.

The trailer looks incredibly stunning. . . completely nonsensical, but stunning. I'm really interested to see it, but I'll first have to find out why it's rated "R."
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I know why it got the R rating. The MPAA said "For violent and sexual images".

This looks amazing.... o_o
I've only seen two of Kon's works (Millennium Actress and Paranoia Agent), but I'd really like to see this. Mr. Kon occasionally gets too risque for my tastes (as in certain episodes of PA...but, other PA episodes I absolutely loved. Mixed bag. ^ ^;; ), but this movie just looks so.....wow. So ridiculously imaginative. o_o

Knowing Kon's style. It's not for flashy or pointless reasons. Kon tends to do things for a reason other than fanservice. So essentially, his stuff really is for mature audiences.

Look at Perfect Blue for example... It's pretty much his most explicit work ever. I'd consider it the A Clockwork Orange of anime.

*whistles*

That animation is stunning. Absolutely stunning.

However, I'm not going to see it. I've seen PG-13 Anime films which have given me nightmares from some scenes, so I'm going to stay far away from this.

And because, even though his animation is truly breath taking, I don't yet like any of Kon-san's work. Although I've only seen Millennium Actress so far.

I thought it looks amazing, and I'd like to see it... but will probably never get around to it. XD;; I'll probably get it from netflix after it comes out on DVD.

Some of Kon's work tend to be psychological thrillers, mainly Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, and now Paprika. So if you didn't like Millennium Actress, you may like his psychological thrillers; unless you get frightened by them.

There's also Tokyo Godfathers, which I hear is pretty good.

This movie looks GREAT! I really want to see it despite the R rating. It looks better than Paranoia Agent and that's sayin' something.

I'm plugging my thread in a way, but there's apparently going to be a screening of Paprika tomorrow at D.C.
