Hey everybody!

....
Ah. Yes...well, I suppose you want to know a little about me. Well I found out about this forum from http://www.animeangels.net, and registered right away. Unfortunately something called real life (you may have heard a bit about it - beastly thing it is) prevented me from immediately introducing myself. Recently though, I ordered a Round-To-It and decided to make CAA a part of a healthy daily browsing diet. I'm glad I did, it's a great forum.

Oh, a little note here: I'm not an anime person. I probably would be, but my household was purged of TV almost right after I was born, and so the only time I am able to watch TV is when I am sick (doctor's office) or on vacation (hotel). That being said, let it be known that I am on a never ending quest for well-drawn, well-written, relatively clean manga. It has become an obsession, I'm afraid.

Now for more personal information. My name is Mia, I'm 17 years old, and I've been homeschooled all my life. I am a die-hard Catholic, and very short (4'10, to be exact).
I enjoy reading and writing very much. My favorite authors are many, but my top favorites have to be: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, P.G. Wodehouse, O.Henry, F. Dostoevsky, and Jane Austen.
As for manga, my top favorite series is Rurouni Kenshin, followed by From Far Away.

Oh yes, and I play violin (since I was 8, actually), and love any sort of outdoor sports, especially tennis and football. I don't really understand football (I plan to though, its one of my resolutions for this summer) but I've always loved watching people play the game.

I think it fair to warn you that I am throughly obsessed with the shows Jeeves and Wooster, and Hogan's Heroes. Among other things. *nods as if that completely explains everything about her*

Sorry if this introduction may have sounded rather stiff and boring - I've always been ridiculously bad when it comes to introductions, AND I usually forget to use smilies in my posts.

;)

In Christ,
Mia

Having no TV is probably a good thing. It would just be hard for me since I'm such a gamer geek. It's a pleasure to meet you! I also started out on AnimeAngels. If you like Manga, check out The Train Man. It's been done by several different companies, as it is a favorite modern folk legend in Japan. Its beautiful. Well, see you around!

Welcome to the Nuthouse!

Wow, growing up with no TV, eh? That's... Wow... I'd guess that would really alter one's perspective on life. I know it would have mine.

Nothing with high standards for Manga. Or Jeeves and Wooster for that matter.

Salutations to you too.

Hi there! I have the same username over at AA, which I visit occasionally, so you may have seen me poking around over there. XD Oh, and I have to say--I love your "location" caption. Did you intend for it to be a reference to The Princess Bride (one of my favorite movies), or was that just coincidental? XD Anyways, have fun, post a bunch, and drop by the chat sometime! See you around the boards! :D

Oh my goodness! I'm a Catholic, too! I like Rurouni Kenshin, too! (It's the anime for me, though, I've never read the manga) What other manga are you into?

P.S. I love the name Mia! XD

I believe I have seen you around. I have the same username over there as well but I don't usually post a lot.
Haha! Yes, I did intend it as a reference to The Princess Bride. I'm a fan of both the book and movie. Also, the location seemed appropriate. ]Hello and a very warm welcome to you. I recognized your username right away! You've posted some really nice artwork on AA. Also, for some reason your username sticks in my head. I really like it.

Connection!
Well I can't give you a long long list of manga that I'm absolutely crazy about since I usually research a series A LOT, which usually takes a good amount of time. RuroKen and Kanata Kara are the only ones that I have actually started collecting. I just read the first Full Metal Alchemist and was impressed – despite the bad religion. Oh! I do like what I have read of Yotsuba&! (who couldn't, it's so cute!), and also Kekkaishi. I have a list of titles which I intend to check out on my next trip to Borders or Barnes & Noble, hehe. Any suggestions would be appreciated! =D

Lol, thank you. Actually, Mia is my nick name, but I'm so used to using it and it's so close to my real name that I just automatically introduce myself as Mia.

*EDIT* That song in your sig! It's one of my favorites by Casting Crowns!

Yeees, I'm a big fan of Mae. XD They're definitely one of my top favorite bands; I'm really looking forward to their new album, "Singularity", this summer. :D And yes, the grammar nazi quote really uh...describes me well! I have an inexplicable love for grammar and spelling. XDD

Well, that seems like a pretty long list to me! LOL! I don't read manga, really, but I have read two D.N.Angel volumes. I love the artwork! But the story is harder to follow in the manga than it is in the anime. Go figure. XD

Out of all the Manga you listed, I think the only one I've heard of is FMA. I feel like a..bumpkin...or something. Hehe....

Aw, well I still like the name. XD I'm assuming it's short for Amelia? (Sorry if that's not right! ^^;; )

Booya! Castins Crowns is AMAZING! I like "Voice of Truth" and "Does Anybody Hear Her", by them, too. =D

I've heard of D.N.Angel - how is the content? I don't mind a few bad words or a lot of blood, but if there's any sexual "stuff" or nudity, I'm usually turned off.

Lol! Well now you've heard of them! I strongly suggest that you at least take a flip through the pages of From Far Away and Rurouni Kenshin. FFA is is based on a romance, but it has a good amount of action, blood, and humor. It's practically squeaky clean too. And RK...*sigh* well, you just haven't lived until you see Kaoru bash Kenshin in the head a few times. Yotsuba&! is a bit odd, but thats what makes it so great. I really enjoy the artwork in there too.

My brother and sister and I could probably listen to "Voice of Truth" 5 times before we get tired of it. They're a great band.

Umm.. I'm not sure about the manga(I've only read like two volumes) but as far as the anime, it's pretty clean. There is a review here that pretty much sums it all up. ]Lol! Um..Well, I'll take a few guesses right now!
Miranda?
Mia?
Melissa?
Amy?
Amanda?
Ok I give up. Lol!

=D Last year, one of my teachers would play Casting Crowns during class for us, and she put a quote from "Voice of Truth" on the board, so that's what got me interested in them. And my brother is learning/has learned "Stained Glass Masquerade" on guitar! w00t! XD
