Thankful Newcomer

Postby AsianBlossom » Tue Feb 27, 2007 9:50 am

Hi everyone; I'm AsianBlossom and I found this site yesterday. I must say, it's been an answer to my prayers, as I have always been frustrated by the wide range of manga and anime out there that has so much objectionable content. Now, because of this site, I can relax knowing that there actually is some good manga and anime out there, but I don't have to poison my mind by looking through every book on the shelves.

So, thank you for making this site, may God bless you all and your work, and I hope to be a welcome member of this site.

Hi, and welcome to CAA! Glad you've found us! :D Have fun, post a bunch, and drop by the chat sometime! Oh, and out of curiosity, what kind of anime/manga series do you like? Maybe some of us around here could help you find some. Be sure to check out the reviews, and also feel free to ask for help in the Anime Recommendations Thread and the Manga Recommendations Thread; I'm sure there's lots of people who would be willing to help you find a good series! :D

See you around the boards!

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."

Thanks all!

Actually, you might have noticed, but so far I've read/seen Azumanga Daioh, Angelic Layer, Kaleido Star, Sonic X, B. B. Explosion (last three books), Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, Yotsuba&!, and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Oh yeah, and some random assorted Pokemon stuff.

Welcome to the site, AB! I hope you'll have a blast around here.

I've seen Kalaido Star, that was a great anime. If you enjoyed that, I'd recommend Full Moon wo Sagashite, it's sort of similar and it's also very good. It's just been liscensed, I think there are only two or three volumes out so far (there are 52 episodes total, I saw them all before the series was liscensed), but if you can stand the wait, it's well worth it. It's one of my favorite series. I liked the manga as well, but overall I thought the anime was more enjoyable and less rushed.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

If you haven't try Shrine of the Morning Mist,I just started watching it and it's pretty fun.The episodes are only 15 minutes per and so you can watch 4 or 5 episodes in a single sitting.
