Been watching (just watching) it a lot more recently, and the game is beautiful, I must say, but they were still a bit careless with some of the clipping and I'm iffy on some of the textures. I haven't seen clipping in a game since I played GTA: Vice City, and that's on PS2 with a lot less power, so it's possible to avoid showing it if the cameras are programmed well enough. Also a bit of pop-in, which I see in things like Shadow of the Colossus but I didn't expect to see at all in this gen, particularly not on something so close... With those few blurry textures, the clipping, and the pop-in, it seems like they were really pushing this game to the limits of what they could do and went a bit too far at times.
Those really are minor issues, though. I would like to give the game a shot, I really love that satellite gun, moreso than the chainsaw (it's not the FIRST game to have a chainsaw, you know, I find the satellite Gun to be a little more interesting) There doesn't seem to be any real plot... Underground things came to the surface, humans are fighting them, things die... Lots of battlefield bad-a banter, no revealing dialogue... No backstories, a few clever quips but... Pretty much zero plot. That does bother me, at least in a game that has characters in it at all... I guess SoC is pretty weak on plot, too, but I guess I'm a sucker for a dead girlfriend, and a puzzle game has more appeal to me than a shooter...
